Ducati India today launched the newest and the flagship variant of its Scrambler line-up, the Scrambler 1100 starting at INR 10.91 Lakhs ex-showroom, Pan India.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 carries forward the same design language and the DNA of its smaller siblings, albeit with significantly more power, a host of new electronics and a lot more new additions as well. Visually, it looks bigger than its younger siblings thanks to the bigger engine, twin underseat exhaust and twin disc setup at the front. The instrument cluster becomes two-pod as well, instead of the single unit found in the smaller Scramblers. Despite the changes, it retains the same minimalistic approach.
The new Scrambler 1100 is powered by a 1079 cc, L-Twin, Desmodromic distribution, 2 valves per cylinder, air cooled engine. It churns out 86 hp at 7500rpm and 88 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm, making it considerably more powerful than the smaller Scramblers. The engine is mated to a 6 speed transmission and ride-by-wire also finds a place in the new Scrambler.
Other changes include the inclusion of a host of new electronics which were absent in the smaller Scramblers. The new electronics include ABS, cornering ABS and a four-level traction control system. Three riding modes also make their way in the new Scrambler. These riding modes are- Active, Journey and City, for riders to transform the motorcycle into three different motorcycles for each distinct personality. So Ducati says.
Different variants explained
The Scrambler 1100 comes in three different variants namely Standard, Special and Sport. All the three variants are priced differently. The Standard is priced at 10.91 Lakhs while the Special and Sport variants are priced at 11.12 Lakhs and 11.42 Lakhs respectively. All the prices are ex-showroom, Pan India.

The special variant comes in Custom Grey color scheme while the Sport comes in Viper black. One can get the Standard in two colors though, Yellow and Black.
Talking about the other changes now, the special and standard variant comes with a fully adjustable 45mm USD fork from Marzocchi and a preload/rebound-damping adjustable monoshock from Kayaba. The sport, as the name suggests has a different setup and comes with a 48mm USD fork and preload/rebound-damping adjustable monoshock – both made by Öhlins.
The Special gets a brushed aluminium finish on the front mudguard and swingarm, and a brown seat while spoke wheels find a place here as opposed to the alloys found on the other two variants. The handlebars too are slightly lower set.

Continuing the legacy, the Scrambler 1100 will come with its own set of new, specially designed accessories and a dedicated apparel line. Ducati India has commenced the bookings of this flagship Scrambler across all the dealerships in India which include- Delhi, NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata & Chennai.
