Coming back to the race at Misano, the action started right from the first race i.e. Moto3. The home favourite and the championship leader (before the race) Marco Bezzecchi started the proceedings with dominance keeping the lead to himself for the most part of the race. The championship runner-up (before the race) Jorge Martin, struggled a bit in the initial parts of the race driven away from the front-runners many a times but the Spaniard kept himself going. He also had a very lucky escape when Jasume Masia who was racing brilliantly, high sided and took down with him Canet, Ayumu Sasaki, Enea Bastianini and Nicolo Bulega. Martin passed Masia just before he high sided. A surprise came in the name of Lorenzo Dalla Porta, the young Italian who won the race after Bezecchi lost control and crashed from the lead in the last lap handing Dalla Porta his first win.

The second race i.e. Moto2 was high on action too but faded in front of the tight Moto3 race except for one incident. The incident involving a racer Romano Fenati who grabbed Stefano Manzi’s brake lever after an earlier tangle which left Fenati fuming. In my case at least, this is the first time I have seen something like this in a race. The races are competitive and there’s always contact but retaliating in this way endangering the lives of others is really bad. It brings a bad name to the sport and I can resonate Cal Crutchlow’s words which strongly stated to not let Fenati race ever again.

The main race of the day turned out be a scintillating affair as well. Andrea Dovizioso came back to his winning ways as he took a comfortable win at Misano, his and Ducati’s first in Italy, after a long time. He was followed by Marc Marquez in the second place and Cal Crutchlow in the third place. We seem to be missing a few names here, right? Jorge Lorenzo who looked phenomenal yesterday right since he started from pole. The Spaniard was overtaken by teammate Dovi and was being followed very closely by Marquez. Dovi built a comfortable lead as Lorenzo and Marquez battled for the second place but at the end, the pressure got the best of Lorenzo as he crashed out on the last lap of the race handing Marquez the second spot and Cal Crutchlow, who was at a lonely fourth, the third and final spot on the podium.
Valentino Rossi’s woes with the Yamaha machine do not seem end as after a rather good show in the qualifiers, he finished at the seventh place.
