It was in 2014 at INTERMOT that Ducati revived the iconic Scrambler and made it a sub-brand of itself. Since the revival of the Scrambler, it has churned out pretty good sales number for the manufacturer. The reason why they’ve launched so many different variants under this sub-brand. Ducati recently unveiled the updated Ducati Scrambler 800 Icon, reminding us that it hasn’t forgotten about the baby Scrambler, after the launch of Scrambler 1100.

Recently, apart from the Scrambler 800 line-up, they introduced the Scrambler 1100. For those who wanted more power and premium-ness as compared to the smaller 800.



The significant updates include is the new Bosch Cornering ABS. For those who want to hoon around, it can be turned off. The headlight is new and now comes with LED DRLs. LED turn signals make an entry as well. One of the major gripes with the Scrambler 800 was the exclusion of fuel gauge from the instrument cluster. It has now been sorted out and the new Scrambler 800 icon now comes with a fuel gauge as well. The hydraulic clutch is now adjustable which will prove to be a boon for riders who found the clutch on the previous iteration a bit uncomfortable.

As far as rider comfort is concerned, Ducati has made some significant changes here as well. The seat is new and said to be well cushioned than before while the handlebars are wider too. Ducati also says that by updating the suspension, they have also improved the handling dynamics of the baby Scrambler.
The cosmetic changes include blacked out engine with brushed cylinder head fins. The side aluminium panels are bigger than before. Machined alloy wheels also add to the charm of the otherwise minimalistic Scrambler.

The 2019 Scrambler Icon is available in two colors:


  • Atomic Tangerine with a black frame and black seat
  • Classic ’62 Yellow with a black frame, black seat and grey trim






Prices are yet to be revealed but one can expect Ducati to launch the updated Scrambler at around 6-6.5 lacs.
