  • 1500 Triumph Motorcycle Owners join The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

Over 1500 Triumph Motorcycle owners joined The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride across various cities in India. All of them dressed suavely and swung their leg over their classic and retro styled motorcycles. It was the 5th edition of Triumph Distinguished Gentlemen’s ride. It was a ride for a cause. They raised funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and men's mental health.

Mr. Shoeb Farooq, General Manager Triumph Motorcycles India
lead the ride from Mumbai and said, “Prostate cancer affects many around the world. By supporting this prestigious annual ride event, we raise awareness and funds for research to save million lives across the globe. We are delighted to be able to support and participate in such an extraordinary and wonderful event, for such a powerful cause for good. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a brilliant initiative which not only successfully establishes and strengthens the bond amongst fellow motorcyclists but also is aimed at promoting a noble cause.“

Triumph Motorcycles has quite an impressive portfolio of classic and retro motorcycles which include Bonneville series, Street Twin, T100, T120, Bobber, Street Scrambler, Speedmaster and the Thruxton R.

There were many awards which were up for grab like Most Distinguished Motorcycle, Most Distinguished Couple, Most Distinguished Gentleman, Most Distinguished Lady, Most Distinguished Moustache, Most Distinguished Beard, and Most Distinguished Junior.

The funds raised will support prostate cancer research and mental health programmes on behalf of The Movember Foundation, who are the world’s largest men’s health organisation.

I have a basic question. How do they raise funds??? If a bunch of people are wearing suits and riding around the city, who gives the $$ ? Spectators? Triumph? Someone else? Or is it an eyewash?

It's my 4th year I'm attending DGR in pune. And yes riders who actually know the cause why the ride is held, donate through their website including me.

And so far this time we have raised around $500 from Pune itself.
