The most apparent visual change is the front end which has a fairing design closer in style to the current KTM 1290 Super Duke R. A new windscreen, revised headlight and front fairing has made the tourer move closer to the street-fighter in terms of styling. The spoilers on the fuel tank now offer storage locations and a dedicated USB port on one side.
On the mechanical front, the updated Super Duke GT gets an up and down Quickshifter found on its naked sibling. A 6.5” TFT dash is also added which has been borrowed from the KTM 1290 Adventure. The power derived from the 1301cc 75-degree V-twin has also changed slightly. The peak power is at a maddening 175 Bhp. And the peak torque is a number even more insane at around 140 Nm.
The electronics front is rather unchanged as it comes with the same Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) in addition to cornering ABS. The “Track” mode from the Super Duke R is also an option for the Super Duke GT. Also, KTM has added the latest semi-active suspension from WP Suspension to the Super Duke GT package, which has three damping modes “Comfort”, “Street”, and “Sport” and push-button preload adjustments for passengers and luggage. Heated grips are fitted as standard, as well. The 2019 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT comes in two color options: white or black.
