Default MV Agusta F4 Claudio: Last dance with the most beautiful of them all!

Christened by most of us as the most gorgeous superbike there is, the MV Agusta F4 is all set to retire. It’s retiring in a very glamorous way though. MV Agusta will be producing 100 units of the MV Agusta F4 Claudio, the final iteration of the F4. Every bit of the Claudio reflects company’s primary intent, performance and art.

This special edition is built on F4 RC’s platform, and as a result, produces 212 bhp from its fire breathing inline-four engine when the dual-tipped race exhaust from SC-Project is installed. While in its street legal trim, it still manages to produce 205 bhp. The peak torque 115.2 nm hits at 9,300 rpm. The engine redlines at 14,200 rpm. Even in its final iteration, with those numbers the Claudio will shatter the earth… in style.

The peeps at MV Agusta are so passionate in what they do that they went ahead and created a separate division for the development and production of the Claudio, enter Reparto Corse division. They created new head intake/exhaust ports for the four-cylinder engine in order to improve fluid dynamics. Other mechanical changes include inclusion of DLC-treated cam followers to reduce friction and to provide more power. As you might have guessed already, the MV Agusta F4 Claudio is draped in carbon fibre bodywork including carbon fibre wheels from BST.

The black carbon fiber is accented by a gold electroplated copper ribbon, which helps tie in the Öhlins suspension pieces fore (NIX 30 with TiN coating) and aft (TTX36). Braking is handled by dual 320mm “T-Drive” discs up front, using Brembo Stylema, 4-piston monobloc radial calipers. As a result of such “heavy” carbon fibre bodywork, the Agusta F4 Claudio tips the scale at 174.6 kgs (Dry).

They haven’t left anything out while throwing in the tech wizardry as well. The Agusta F4 Claudio will be equipped with an AiM MXS dash with integrated data acquisition. There is an eight-level IMU-assisted traction control system, as well as MV Agusta’s up/down quickshifter system and other MVICS electronic rider aids. To reduce the weight even further, MV Agusta has used titanium bolts and screws. The rider seat is cross stitched with an embroidered Claudio logo.

It’s expected that MV Agusta will pull out F4 and all its other variants for the 2020 year, making the Claudio the final instalment in this iconic motorcycle legacy. The MV Agusta F4 Claudio will be available in the USA starting June 2019, with a price tag of just over $83,000.
