The first and foremost improvement is the weight. According to Dainese, the new D-Air system is 37% lighter than the previous generation system. One would surely appreciate the number if they have laid their hands on the previous gen D-Air suits! It is also stated by Dainese that the 3rd Gen D-Air system has better ergonomics and efficiency than before.
One of the most prominent improvements or shall we say addition to the range is that Dainese is going to start using the D-Air technology in suits and jackets for women. Dainese has also extended the D-Air system to a plethora of suits and jackets in the range. These include including the new Misano 2 D-Air leather racing suit; the Avro D-Air textile suit; the Racing 3 D-Air leather jacket; and the Carve Master 2 D-air Gore-Tex sport-touring jacket.
For women, the D-Air equipped list includes the Misano 2 Lady D-Air, which is the first professional leather suit for women equipped with an airbag. Female riders will also have airbag protection in the Avro Lady D-Air textile jacket and the Racing 3 Lady D-Air leather jacket. As expected, the items from the women’s D-Air line offer the same features and technology as the men’s line.
Another useful improvement is that the 3rd Gen D-Air system now features replaceable airbags i.e. after an activation, the airbags can now be replaced by an authorised Dainese dealer.
