Inheriting the FZ's legacy and similar styling the new FZ-FI and FZS-FI are powered by a Blue Core concept driven 149cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve single cylinder engine with fuel-injection. The settings of the engine have been revised along with compression ratio of 9.5:1 delivering 13.2 Ps of power at 8000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. The new FZ-FI and FZS-FI feature newly designed sub-frame, Bosch single-channel ABS (front wheel) with higher handlebar position, LCD instrument cluster, separate housings for LED headlight beams, rear disc brakes, mudguard from FZ-25, newly designed plastic resin tank cover, sliding engine kill switch, main switch in the front of the tank and two-level seat with comfortable grab bars.
The most prominent feature though is the new styling proportion that groups the front end, fuel tank and engine together to resemble a classic urban street motorcycle. Additionally, it features lower engine fairing, partly chrome finished air-intake and exclusive color schemes. The introduction of the new FZ-FI and FZS-FI followed the first launch of the ABS enabled R15 V3 from the company in 2019.
The price of the new Yamaha FZ-FI ABS is INR 95,000/- (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) and it is available in 2 colors, Metric Black and Racing Blue. The new Yamaha FZS-FI ABS has been priced at INR 97,000/- (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) and is available in Matt Black, Dark Matt Blue and Gray and Cyan Blue colors.
