When KTM unveiled the 790 Adventure, it was received very well by enthusiasts and many have claimed that it is quite a capable machine off the tarmac as well. But seemingly, KTM did not think so and as a result of that we see this- KTM 790 Adventure R. From the looks of it, this new trim of the 790 Adventure is going to be a heck of a machine to explore some really wild trails!
Of the 2020 model, KTM will only be making 500 units of this baby. Those who want to get their hands on it but miss out the 500 units limited run, fret not because the parts to turn the 790 Adventure into 790 Adventure R, are there in the KTM power parts catalogue.
Coming to the KTM 790 Adventure R, WP XPLOR PRO suspension is the headline upgrade. On the rear, we have WP XPLOR PRO 6746 shock absorber which uses a progressive damping system (PDS) setup. Because of these suspension changes, the KTM 790 Adventure R Rally boasts an extra 30mm of suspension travel. The wheels, though narrower, require tubes which may put off a few.
Other notable upgrades are an Akrapovic exhaust, carbon fibre tank protectors, and KTM’s Quickshifter+ (up/down QS). KTM has also thrown in some special graphics for the Rally model.
Now, there is no word on pricing and availability but we do not expect the motorcycle to be revealed before November i.e. EICMA 2019. But we would like to think that at least ‘some more’ information will be available before that.
