The motorcycle has not been officially revealed yet. CFMoto teased a fully-faired sports bike based on the 250NK, the naked streetfighter, earlier this year. Prototype photos have been floating on the internet for some time. But this... this is the complete thing. Production model ready for our viewing pleasure. The picture comes courtesy of a type approval application in China and shows the bike in showroom-ready form.
Since the motorcycle is based on the naked counterpart, the tech-specs are bound to be similar. A 249cc engine with 26 bhp of power suspended in a tubular steel frame. J. Juan Brakes, USD forks, LED lights and so forth. But more than anything, the talking point of the motorcycle is the design. Styling is a result of Kiska design. And for the uninitiated, the brand is known for styling the last few generations of KTM motorcycles.
The CFMoto 250SR weighs 165 kg (wet) which is impressive considering the fact that the naked 250NK weighs 150 kg. We expect the pricing to be competitive (and the same if it is launched in India) as the motorcycle is in for some stiff competition; the recently launched Gixxer SF 250, KTM RC 200, and even the CBR 250R.
Seemingly, good times are set to roll for the Chinese brand as the CFMoto 250SR will be a part of the 2020 model range of the brand and it is not the only one. We are yet to see a new 700cc parallel-twin from CFMoto as well! They are already building KTMs for the Chinese market and soon, they'll be building their parallel-twin models too. As a result of that, they have struck a deal to use KTM's LC8 V-twin and that could only mean more new bikes and big ones too!
