Default New Triumph Tiger 900 Rally and GT coming in December

The new Triumph Tiger 900, which was spied earlier, will be launched in December according to the social media channel of the UK-based manufacturer. Triumph Motorcycles posted a short teaser with the text; "The new Tiger 900 Rally & GT range. Adventure, transformed. 7pm (GMT) on Tuesday 3rd December." In the teaser, the silhouette of the motorcycle is dominated with a pair of spotlights and a mono-brow DRL that looks to sit above new twin headlights.

A longer video posted on the Triumph Website shows a fleeting glimpse of the new bike and it looks promising. The video shows the new Triumph Tiger 900 being ridden across various terrains. We are of the belief that the new 900 range will replace the existing 800 in the middleweight range of Triumph's adventure-touring models.

As we mentioned before, the spy shots of the new Triumph Tiger 900 emerged a while ago. Seemingly, it gets a new 887cc, 3-cylinder engine. The new engine is supposed to hive the baby Tiger a good low-end grunt with the power not tapering off even in the higher rev-range. As the norm is with most new models, we believe that the electronics will be updated too and the addition of an IMU seems imminent as well.

There's also a new frame on duty. While the previous one was a one-piece steel front to back without removable pillion pegs, the new one now has a different loop around the back of the gearbox, where the subframe and pillion pegs simply bolt-on. A fleeting glance at the forks also reveals that Showa is the provider this time around.

When it comes to design, the front end of the bike seems to have had quite a bit of a makeover. Sharper, sleeker, and more rally-ish seems to be the mantra nowadays and the new Triumph Tiger 900 does not plan to fall off that particular train. The biggest change though, except the engine, might very well be the '3rd-generation TFT dashboard. Not only is it larger than the current model, but it will also probably have some nifty tricks up its sleeve considering the smart-motorcycle trend that is in full swing nowadays.

The model in the spy shots seems pretty-much finished and we do not expect a lot of changes in the production model when compared to these spy shots. We'll anyway be sure shortly as 3rd of December is not that far off!
