The Honda NeoWing was a concept which was unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Honda also applied for a patent soon after. The focal point though was the power steering. Now, this can be referred to as Honda following in the footsteps of Yamaha but is that a bad thing? Absolutely not. The Niken has enjoyed some success in Europe.

The Niken is a leaning trike which is known for riding like a bike but with enhanced front-end grip and immense braking potential. It is practically resistant to a fall as we experienced it. So Honda looking into such a concept is no surprise. The differentiating factor though would be, in addition to the power steering, the engine.
The NeoWing was showcased with a seemingly flat-4 engine but it can be powered by the flat-six from Goldwing or it can be a twin as well. Though with the setup that Honda is eyeing, the NeoWing will need a lot of power and torque to offset the weight. And while we are at it, Honda may even plan a smaller capacity and lighter variant of the NeoWing.
Now, another deterrent that Honda may have to offset is the price. An example could be the Niken which is significantly more expensive than the MT-09 and the Tracer, both of which have the same engine as the Niken. In order to justify the pricing of that sort, Honda may have to go HAM in order to make it a lucrative deal.
But Honda being Honda, they may end up delivering just that... and more with the NeoWing. The styling and the componentry sure seem to be pointing in that very direction. The wheels. The complex steering system. The overall styling. So believe that the launch of the Honda NeoWing may not be a matter of if, but when...
