  • SOL SL68s Unicorn II Helmet Review

Hey all, i own SOL SL68s unicornII helmet, its been 1.1 year since i got it.

    Review:

how much and where: The helmet costed me 5,500 INR with few free helmet caps and a pair of original knighthood gloves and you also get a helmet bag which is very good, got it from Megha Enterprises Bangalore, lalbhag road.

    What i ride: R15 V2

    Previously owned Helmet: Vega Boolean.

After i got this helmet the first thing i felt was it was a perfect fit. they have good options of various sizes that you can try. the Fit and Finish is very good, the graphics is brilliant too. There are 19 vents 9 intake vents and 10 large outlet vents for the hot air to go out. The vents on top of the helmt are not so good with the stability on highway fast ride, because of the winds the head keeps shaking little which is uncomfortable in the beginning. The helmet sure keeps 80% sweat out of the face during bad traffic ride or even during hot conditions.

There are LED lights strap behind the helmet for night and foggy ride. Riders behind me said that its very much visible just like that brake lights of the bike. But the main reason they are there is to help the rider to be visible in someway in the night when you get off the bike.

The visors are top quality too, using the same ones i got with the helmet still. few scratches because of falls and also due to insects that hit you on highway ride. I have both clear and tinted visors (i had got tinted later, it wont come with the helmet), i change them everyday for day and night ride while i go to office and back. The socket for changing the visor is a piece of cake, very easy unlike the LS2 helmets. have seen few LS2 guys struggling and also breaking few parts of the socket and visor.

The strap is the best i have seen, it wont ever come out. Its a D-ring closure unlike the normal buttons.

The helmet looks huge, but it aint heavy. easy to carry around and easy on the head.

The helmet get little foggy inside, this is lesser then what used to happen in the vega. but this happens only in very cold conditions. the front intake vent is helpful for this.

here are few things i did to it did it on my own.

Any change in price now? Do they have a good enough range to choose from?

I think its still the same. They do have loads of variety to choose form. visit Lets gear up in HSR or Megha enterprises. and they get limited helmets. if you need particular ones then you may have to pre order. check Spartan Pro Gear|Home Page

Very true!! I face it all the time

those are reflective stripes. bought them and cut according to the wings on the helmet. only use is that it will reflect in dark situations when there is a hint of light thous making rider visible. and also it looks good without spoiling the look.

PS: its painful job and might spoil your helmet if not done correctly i did properly because i know how to

Ron, I am planning to buy a new helmet. Once I get it, I am coming to your house with 3m tapes for the artwork ;-)

                        Hi,
I'm looking for a xxxl size helmet (Full face). I havn't been able to find the size anywhere in India (Online). Can anyone please help me with this?

I'm planning to get one from UK as the size is availble there. I want to know if someone is bringing that helmet for me, do they have to pay any duties. They will be bringing that as luggage.

                        Appreciate any inputs.

I have started wondering if I'm the only one with a big head in the entire country?

EVEN xxl SIZE is not available in India via online or in shop.
