  • A jaunt to Kasauli

    Hi guys,

The climate was really nice so we four Ashu, Ripu, Harry and me planned for a ride to Kasauli. Harry couldn't join us due to some work, so finally we three headed up the hills.

Here is the write-up of the trip:

07:00 hours, reached at Fun Republic petrol pump. Looked around, in a while Anuj and Ripu appear from the fog. We get some petrol, switch the lights to low beam and there we are on our way to Kasauli.
Morning hours, empty roads, chilling wind and we reach Kalka in half an hour. Have a stop to have a view of the beautiful mountains and then start climbing the hills.
At around 08:30 hours we reach Dharampur from where we take a left turn for Kasauli. A left turn and the potholes start pouring in. After a half an hour of jerky ride we reach Kasauli. Parked our bikes at the view point to have a stunning view of the clouds and the mountains. Seeing the play area for small children near view point, the child inside Anuj and Ripu starts jumping and in the moment I see them sliding and swinging.

At around 13:00 hours we reach back to Chandigarh and head towards Punjab University for some juices and coffee. Sit there enjoy our drinks and relax for a while.
Ripu leaves for his friends and I and Anuj head towards our home.
All in all it was a fun ride.

Thanks biker boy. Hills are so close to you (since you guys are in Chandigarh), while we need to ride for atleast 200+kms. before we can even see hills in the vicinity.

How are the road conditions throughout the trip? I ask because Kasauli beckons yet again..
            :)

Just 15 minutes ride and we start climbing up the hills, surely thats one of the advantages being in Chandigarh.

The road till Dharampur is good, take a left turn for Kasauli and the bad stretches start, it desperately needs a recarpeting.

Moreover it was pleasure to corner on the hills on the R15's, starting early morning really made it a treat as the roads were all empty.

Lucky you. Here in 15 mins I can barely cross my own sector ...forget hills .

I should say, that is one more advantage of being in Chandigarh. Its a small city and the bug of traffic jam has still not bitten it hard.

Thanks Inder, Kasauli are the first hills and the beauty of this place is that the climate changes here every 10 minutes. In a moment we have the sun shining and next moment you will have clouds passing by your face.
The time we went it was all sun shining, its pleasant(slightly on the colder side) in summers and winters are chilling. So the shining sun made things pleasant.
