Is Goa a state
Untill a few years ago I would always tell my friends that I havent done an interstate ride for a long time, and then my girl would pounce on me and remind me about my Goa rides, and I would promptly say Goa is a Union Territory
But the way its going with creation of "United States of India" I am not sure anymore....

Day 1: Hyderabad-Zaheerabad-Sholapur-Pune(560KM)
Day 1: Hyderabad-Zaheerabad-Sholapur-Pune(560KM)
Vinod came to my house on the previous night at 11PM, as I stay on Bombay highway, out skirts of the city. We intended to start by 5 AM, but it was almost 6 by the time we started. We knew that first day of our trip is going to be tough along with last day as we need to cover huge distance on the dry roads.
As the first 30Km up to Sangareddy is 4 lined, roads are totally free but the mist and fog was so thick that nothing was visible on the opposite direction and the vehicles that are infront of us & we are not able to cross 40KMPH due to 0 visibility, we are hardly able to see 100mts ahead, some how we struggled & done 80km by 7:30 & taken our first break before Zaheerabad at Ghar Dhaba to have our breakfast.
We started by 8:15 & crossed the AP state border & entered Karnataka, for around 80Km we traveled in Karnataka & entered Maharasttra. The roads were good with some truck traffic. We reached Solapur by 11:30 & taken a by pass route. The traffic from here increased along with pollution. The avg speed also came down as heavy carrier trucks & Lorries passing on the both ways & crossing one another. But the best part here is roads were straight without ant curves, so this helped us to cross all those trucks. We have stopped before Indapur at 2 Pm to have our lunch at some dhaba. We have taken some 90mnts break & started at 3.30, still to cover 150 KM. But from Indapur, the roads started becoming worst as the road progress towards Pune. We reached the 4 laned road before pune by 5 PM. It has been 7 by time we reached our friend room in Pune which in the other end of the city.
There is not much to say on Day1, but will come up with good pics & logs for the coming days
My Bike ODO just before the start.

Trip A Set to 0

Bike all set to Gooooooo.

Car trying to over take a trcuk, just 200 mts in front.

Head to the Tourer section for ideas.... You have bungee cords, bungee nets and all to help you for it! Touring with pillion + luggage needs some balls man! I would strongly suggest against it, if its your first time!Originally posted by lockhrt999 View Posthey nice photos...

Thanks Kalsi, btw its sunrise not sunsetOriginally posted by kalsi View PostNice pics. Particularly the ones in which you are cupping the sunset and the first one with shadows from your bike looks amazing(how did u manage to do this). waiting for your log.
taken at Mahabaleshwar.
The shadow one was taken on our way to Chipulan on NH 17, suddenly we noticed our shadow on the left side & my pillion rider Vinod has taken it.
The beaches in MH are really amazing.Originally posted by HydroXidE View PostAhm .. I already see Dhom dam, Table land, Echo point and MH beaches ..
And that's a pretty wicked luggage setup there!
Hooked .. waiting for more ..
To be some what crazy only, but the urge of touring made it possible.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostWow! 4 states in seven days with a pillion! That must have been crazy!
More details please!
Thanks Rockyy, will try to upload day 1 & day 2 log by evening.Originally posted by Rockkyyy View PostInteresting Pics .. Bring it on !
There is some discomfort for the both riders, especially to pillion.Originally posted by happybiking View PostWhat all states???
Andhra,Maharashtra,Goa,Karnataka???
Those are 4 states we passed through, but we didnt visit a single place in Goa.
Query : How was the ride comfort with a pillion??? Did the relatively smaller wheel-base make it a bit uncomfortable???
