Default New scooty to be bought this week

Guys, I have a friend who's looking to buy a scooty by this week end. Her main requirement is, like most students, fuel efficiency. She will be riding only in the city. 15-25 km per day would be her range. She doesn't know how to ride a scooty yet, So I think that something lightweight would be better for her. She is willing to spend upto 45-50k on the scoot. Height is not a problem as she is 5'5"

I've already suggested her the aviator or the access, due to disc brake and 125cc engine respectively. But she said that she wants something girlie (huh??). So anyways, any suggestions??
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

The scooty & HH Pleasure have been created as girlie image due to the Ads. Remember the old Scorpio Ad where in a Scorpio is driven by a lady & compare it with the new campaign New Muscular Scorpio. So is that lady Muscular or the Scorpio has been made for ladies? Anyway, its any individual's perception, leaving it to them.

IMO, Access 125 is great one, has good build quality, lighter & easy to maneuver. If I happen to sell my Activa, my list would be Access, Rodeo & Aviator.

Scooty Streak is one very good ungeared scooter.

There are several good options available in Mahindra too..many members here have recommended them.

The only problem while buying an active is the huge waiting period.

if shes going with scooty streak, whats wrong?...its a pretty good scoot...we here at xbhp are power addicts but for many of them out there, brand name and fuel eff will do.FACT...and scooty with its small engine will definitely not disappoint her when it comes to fuel eco and also girlie image...

My 2 cents... Please recommend her Hero Honda Pleasure,
    > Costs just 2/3K more than TVS Pep
    > Lighter than Activa/other 100+cc scoots.
    > Superb engine, segment best mileage, HH reliability.
    > HH provides on road assistance for free (select cities/towns)-good for gals !!
    > HH Spares availability/Service network is simply the best.

For once, I would agree with Vipin

The HH Pleasure is an absolute delight. I have one with me for more than a year now and it is an absolute pleasure (intended). Some points that I noted from a year of my association with the Pleasure.

    1. The engine is butter smooth and sometimes, while cruising at 50 Kmph, it becomes difficult to hear the engine.
    2. The quality of plastic parts is great and no rattles even though she has covered more than 5000 kms of bad Pune roads
    3. Delivers around 40-55 kmpl depending on traffic conditions.
    4. HH service at most places is HORRIBLE but the product more than makes up for it
    5. Spares are expensive but do not wear out frequently so that should not be an issue. I have only replaced the exhaust heat plate since it cracked after some idiot crashed on to it from the side.
    6. Storage space is an OK OK affair...small size helmets fit perfectly.
    7. Headlights are great and so are the brakes.

The HH service is pathetic and they tend to damage the bike more than make it better.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

Same here.. the cute Scooty just oozes of girly teenge appeal. Though the Pleasure could also be perfect.
