Hi all, I am looking to purchase the Honda CB 350RS in the next couple of weeks. For context, I have been riding for 16 years now, with my first two bikes being the 2007 Pulsar 200 DTS-i and the 2013 Pulsar 200NS. While I have been relying on cabs for the past few years to commute to work (running me a cost of almost 25k a month!!), I am now in the market for a new bike that would be a great commuter in metro roads, have the necessary safety and convenience features, engine reliability, and refinement (especially since for the immediate future, it will need to be parked outside under an outcropping and not in a garage). Now that I have also hit the wrong side of 30, become too heavy for my own good, and begun combatting lower back pain owing to a sedentary office job - having a comfortable riding posture and adequate support from the seat and suspension is also a top priority. Mileage is the last concern but as long as the bike offers 30-35 kmpl driving in Delhi's bumper-to-bumper traffic, I am good with it.

The nearest Bigwing showroom is in Lajpat Nagar; the sales folk have been reasonably nice and answered most of my questions- have test driven the bike a couple of times for a good 20-25 minutes each time. I liked the feel of the CB 350RS but I also have the following questions that I hope the good folks here can answer:

1. Obviously the engine is underpowered and while I never got the chance to really test it in traffic, would it be underwhelming in the long run (>3-4 years) considering my prior experience with the Pulsars? Would love to know more about this from RS owners who moved from similar BHP producing machines. I don't need it to break speed limits or tour on the highways but I would like to know whether it feels laggy while overtaking etc.
2. On that note, I am aware of the tall gearing on the bike and while it did not feel very bothersome during the test rides, I would not want to shift a few dozen times in stop and go traffic. I have browsed around and found that some folks have been able to replace the front 14t sprocket with a 13T one but I have no idea where to source one from a reliable manufacturer who actually knows what they are doing. A link or a contact for something like this would be much appreciated.
3. I am aware that keeping the bike outside is not ideal but I don't have an option for at least 6 months; I plan on regularly using WD40 to ensure rust does not form on exposed metal but any ownership experiences and tips will be helpful here as well. Instagram has been chewing on my search data and serving me adverts of this bike shelter brand called polyvault. Any views on that?
4. How is the ride comfort for people who are dealing with lower back/ tailbone pain? I thought the slightly sportier riding position should relieve the pressure on the back of the butt - but hearing from other riders will help a lot. Alternatively, any other bikes within the 2-2.5 lakh budget that I should look at that addresses my requirements? I have been advised to look at highway adv bikes like the upcoming TVS RTX 300 as potential options but I am a little wary of the service experiences there.I am not in a hurry to get the bike but was looking to capitalize on festive deals for the season. Can definitely wait a month or two though.
5. I plan to get the Honda knuckleguards, and backrest as accessories from the showroom and aftermarket crash guards/sliders. However, the sales folks did not give me a straight answer to the type of front fender extension/mudflap they can provide. Similarly, they mentioned that I would need to get my own rear tyre hugger and they will install it a day after delivery. I want to replace the absolutely useless mirrors as well and I have seen reviews mentioning getting the CB300R or CB300F mirrors - but I have not been able to find ways to source those. Any link or pointers to where I can source decent mirrors and a tyre hugger (that will definitely not vibrate and properly fit the RS) will be appreciated.
6. Finally, what have folks' service experiences in Delhi NCR been like? Are there any mechanics/dealers of accessories and spares that you guys can recommend I check out in Delhi NCR that can provide good, reliable service and know what they are doing?
