  • suzuki gs150r?? Will it b a good decision?

i'm thinking abt purchasing suzuki gs150r.
Its cheaper than dazzler and after studying on net came to know that like dazzler it too has sound engine with good mileage.

But am concerned about its after sales service and maintenance costs in kolkata
Can anyone pls from kolkata please specify: how is the suzuki service center here and location of Suzuki dealer point in kolkata?

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

      I am a happy 3 months / 6 K owner of orange GS.
The sore point of us all is Suzuki dealer / Service center in never near.
The main eastern side dealer is "Hooghly Suzuki" at Khadina more Chinsura.
The maintenance cost aspect can be explained by older GS riders. for me till date not much - only 3 free services.

My friend is also considering to buy GS150. How does it fair against pulsar 150 and CBZ extreme ?

Right , my colleague has it in that fantastic peacock-blue and I've rode it twice . It is a great bike , looks big & sexy and has very smooth engine and transmission, great FE . But he has to travel across the river to Chinsurah(howrah) to get service and parts . Consider it if you can do that bi-monthly, without swearing .

In terms of built quality , surprisingly its best. yes its cheaper than dazzler , bigger and stable , FE better .. than dazzler , as we had owned dazler some while ago . dazzlers kickless and low power battery is big concern after 5/6 months , my brother sold after 2 years due this reasons , tublesstyres and back disk brakes do not justify price.
GS hardly requires service if you take care your self , initial 4 services can be managed , buts its biggest drawback is lack of service centers and spare part availablty in local markets( if requred).
Its good asset to own and you will like rididng it everytime and would like to keep it for very long time ( in most of cases like me , its forever), its smooth engine , gliding through air feeling and mile munching ability( comfertable @ 80~110 kmh) though not agile as dazzler in heavy trafics

Pulsar 150 has cult status like cbz extream , they both have far reaching dealer and service network thats there plus point (what we indians are mostly concerened). these bikes along with suzy fiero defined and started sporty bike era. but looking at competetion and reliability factors GS or unicorn will not outsmart in outright performance , but are reliable and long term companion. bajaj quality is an issue( unlike old classic) , cbz's FE can be tricky though a good package.
GS is best 150cc's available at respectable price point.

although a good bike i suggest you to look at other options.reason being not a single showroom in kolkata.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
                    #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.
