Default 2003 Pulsar 150 - is it worth the price?

I am being offered a Bajaj Pulsar 150, 2003 model.

I am looking fo a second hand motorcycle which I will keep for the next four years. My daily commute is going to be 30 kms. I also intend to use the bike for touring. A LOT! (That's why I'm so concerned here).
I intent to take the machine everywhere I possibly can.

My questions are:

- Is the bike fit for touring? And at seven years of age, do you think it is reliable enough?
- Is a price tag of Rs 17,600 okay?

Smile check condition

pulsar for Rs 17000 is not bad one .

but just check the engine condition , but mind it pulsar 1 st model is the best one which i have seen sence today by BAJAJ .

just check the condition of that bike n if it is o.k from my point of view purchase that bike you will not get any break down on that bike ......

n that's true bro

@ ken cool- Thanks! I couldn't find my thread in 'the tourer', so I thought it was removed, and posted a similar one in 'What Bike?'

@shyam - I'll check the bike today. Is 35K km on the odo something to worry about here?

I too own a Classic 150, and now when I want to sell it I am not getting a penny above 12000 Rs. So, bargain on your own terms.

@raghav--how many kms has the Pulsar clocked?
If it is late '03, then it should be the 1st Dts-i version.(post 15th Oct to be precise)

A Classic hardly gets 15-20K IMO, if it is in excellent condition then too 15K is a good buy.

just check is it single plug or dual plug .

if single plug n good condition then try to bargain the price to around 14k or 15k

but its millage is less than dtsi n pickup , sound much better than dtsi .....

better you chose what you want millage or pickup ........

@abhichotu - You mean a classic Pulsar 150, right? The non-dtsi version?

@sheelpriye - The mecho says it has clocked about 30,000 km, but he isn't sure. Hopefully I can go see the bike today or tomorrow and find out for sure.

@shyam - what exactly is the plug? Can it be physically identified? (I should know before I go to see it).

I will update on the conditions of the bike once I see it for myself. One question remains unanswered - Does the bike pull nicely? I have to take it for touring as well. Dream of going to Ladakh sometime

Guys, when I go to test the bike, what all should I watch for, according to you?

Yes, I meant for a Classic Pulsar 150 only, the one with round headlamp and non Dts-i.
