Question Pulsar 150 - strange stalling problem

Hi guys,

I noticed this strange problem last week. I parked my bike on side stand with engine running for few seconds and then straightened it to remove the side stand and engine stalled. I didnt pay much attention to this, but when I noticed this happening for 3 days in a row, its bothering me now. I checked up with local mechanic and thought carb is the suspect.. but it looks sparkling clean with no clogs anywhere.. fuel line too is looking clean. This happens both when engine is warm / blazing hot.

What might be the cause behind this strange behavior ? Fuel can be negated cause its shell super unleaded always for me and I do use fuel system cleaner every 1000 Kms.

this never happened with my P150 UG3, i hope there is suffecient petrol in tank, check you float and float pin for proper operation.

well yea...being a 2stroker my first doubt was carb!! but then, this problem do arise only when the handle bar's position is changed when in neutral!! so i dont think carb may not be a cause!!

@princesirohi: fuel level doesn't matter in this situation. I have noticed this with 5 litres and just above reserve. The problem is with the bike's angle. Bike stays idling when on side stand, the moment I straighten it, it chokes. I removed the tank last weekend and poked the fuel line with a clean metal wire to remove any fuel gunk, nothing has helped me yet. Carb is spic and span.. no issues in that front. Not sure where exactly this effect comes from.

if it happens just by changing handle position, it may mean that your accelerator cable may be stuck somewhere, check to see that it should be free.

i am not saying that your carb is not clean, check for float and float pin proper functioning. if its ok, try to raise the idling RPM a little bit.

Then it should happen on every turn, and at all gears.
@Prith: by stalling do you mean the engine shuts off like when the ignition key is turned off or like when the engine shuts off if the fuel shift from main to reserve????
