Default R15 v2.0 's tail on v1.0 ?

Hi chaps , a friend of mine was wondering if the tail section of the new R15 can be fit onto the older R15 ? Are the mounting points the same ? Has anyone done it ?

I had asked this at the svc, they claimed it is possible, but you need to change all the fairings except the headlamp cowl and some new mounting points would be required. Not sure how correct this information is though. Ideally you will need to strip down a V2 and compare, pretty sure is can be done.

Can be done, but will cost quite a sum of money.
The fairings need to be changed, & also the frame of the tail-section.
Adding to this, the LED tail-lamp & seats would cost a good sum of money I guess.

Plus, the tail of the 2.0 is longer & higher than the 1.0, so the bike will look odd with increased gap b/w tyres & tail.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back;
and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Exactly, if u put the longer and higher tail section of the v2.0 ten you would also have to put the new aluminum swingarm and tire just to gel with the entire setup. And changing the swingarm would hamper the handling of the bike.

Thanks for all your inputs guys .. So it seems like its going to be quite an expensive affair to convert a v1.0 to v2.0.
Changing the swingarm was not part of his agenda. Ill have to burst my friends bubble i guess

Will the rear fender accommodate the 130 section tyre?

Coz I tried a Rear tyre hugger in R15 V1 almost the equivalent to an 130 Sec tyre, Its hitting the Rear fender when I ride with a Pillion rider.

To your notice, the Rear tyre hugger is just 0.5MM above the Rear tyre, still it hits Rear fender.

Does your friend ride a LE R15, & had ridden to Tumkur with a group of bikers sometime in July-2011?
