Question 2 Wheeler : Wheel Alignment / Balancing Centers in Bangalore

Hi,

I own a ZMR and offlate found that there is slight wheel wobble on rear. I feel there is slight bend. Couple of places I read the wheel bend can be removed by hydraulic press / wheel alignment / balancing. Donno what exactly will help me.

Can you guys mention the place where 2 Wheeler : Wheel Alignment / Balancing Centers are available in Bangalore.

Thanks.

Recently, I got my Linea's bent alloy wheel repaired from A1 Car Care Centre.

Have you checked with the Hero Motocorp SVC? I guess they should be able to do it. Once for my Bajaj bike, the Bajaj SVC guys did the job.

Though I'm not from Bangalore, I can comment on the issue. Firstly, I'm yet to come across a wheel alignment/balancing center for bikes. I see some clip weights on the rims of new bikes, but mine didn't have them. No idea about whether they were balanced at the factory or not. When I ask around, some say that bikes need wheel balancing after tyre change while others say it is only for cars.
Coming to the rim bend, my R15 recently had a rear rim bend after we dumped it in a huge pothole when air pressure was very low (old tyres). The air leaked out within 5mins.
Managed to fill in air&ride back home.
Later got it repaired at a hydraulic press. It is pretty simple, only that you need to remove the tyre&take the rim separately. Costed me only 100 bucks.
Don't go for the conventional hammering method to repair the rim as alloys will lose their strength if hammered-they are not like steel spokes.
You need to look for a similar shop there.

Yeah I had read about your R15 wheel bend in Fiero thread I guess. I will have to check with Gixxer if he knows anyone in Bangalore who can do the Hydraulic press. I have those metal weights but I don't think thats balanced.

Thanks for your feedback, I will check if some lathe guys have hydraulic press and if they can do.

Any specific procedure I should instruct them to follow ?

Shreeni,
Whether you remember this or not I do not know but raised this issue long ago in the ZMR Thread.
Though I am from Kolkata yet to find out these centres.

Had some serious issues with my rear stock Tyre and changed to Zapper-Q.
Still the problem continued.
Ultimately changed to tube setting with rear Michelin M-45 & front Michelin M-62 around 9500 kms.
Planning to change to TUBELESS thru Michelin help and change Tyres @ 20000 kms.
Will be able to update then only.

A Michelin dealer told me the same here, telling stock MRF tyre is the culprit. But I don't think that tyre was the culprit. I am using Michelin Sirac, even then I have the issues of wobbling. And the old rubber I have swapped it to my Bullet and there is no wobbling on my Bullet.
