Default New Karizma R wobbling issue

Hi Folks,

I purchased a new karizma r in the month of nov 2011 and have clocked 1300 kms now. I am facing a serious problem with the handling of the bike, right from day 1 the front portion of the bike is wobbling(steering and front wheel) and at speeds like 50 or 60 when hands left the steering shivers and also the bike sways to the right. The sales person at the showroom advised me to wait till first service. At the time of first service i was informed by the workshop mechanic that the tire is faulty. He also swapped my tire and mag-wheel with another karizma's tire and wheel and the whole problem was solved. The sales person assured me that he will get the tire replaced but as usual the ASS of hero is disappointing. I had to send a bunch of mails and make several phone calls only after which they contacted me. Finally i got the tire replaced but the problem still occurs. I did report the issue to them and they asked me to visit the workshop tomorrow. I personally feel that there are two possibilities either it could be the tube or the mag wheel since these two where not replaced. I just need some tips from you guys regarding the handling issue and also the bike swaying toward right when hands left. What could be the problem? Please help experts?

PS: I also opened the bike to 120 kmph last night on new years eve and the bike was very unstable even with proper air pressure(very bumpy and shaky) on slightly uneven roads.

From what you have said it is evident you had tire issue to begin with and it was solved when HH changed the tire...after some time HH had changed the tire ONLY again and you got back the problem...obviously the New tire fitting is not done properly , or the replacement tire is equally bad.
Bike Straying to the right is not a good sign..either your front to back wheel alignment needs correction(check the rear wheel position markings on both sides of swing arm ie., chain tightening alignment), or the cones are to be lubricated, or the fork alignment is off.
Take it to HH SVC and sit on their neck,to get it sorted.

Since you say that the problem was solved on changing both the Mag wheel and tire, how did you keep quiet when they offered to only replace the tire and not the wheel also???Get the wheel also replaced ASAP else they may shift the blame on you by claiming that you may have driven the bike on potholed roads and the impact caused damage. They may also suggest to you to claim insurance to get the front wheel replaced.Do not do that and Fight for your right. Most important do not tell them that you touched 120 on your bike they may just use this to turn the tables on you.

@ zma@mybabe you said firstly they changed the complete front wheel with alloy wheel , then after getting the tire they changed the tire , that mean the alloy wheel you have is of that another Karizma , is that a new undelivered bike or bike comed for servicing ? If you haven't got your own alloy wheel then they have fitted your alloy wheel to that another Karizma & delivered to the owner , or if you have got your own alloy wheel back , there are most chances that your alloy wheel is also misalligned get it replaced , also check for the other things as psr sir said .

Hi, thread owner Please check 'Tyre lining' by some experienced tyre work shop and ask him to get the lining by inflating tyre with 60-80 psi then bring lining then decrease the air pressure to 25psi if it reverts back and lining is lost then replace tyre also check alloy wheel (disk) it wont be out still formality's sake and then axil Bearings and finally the cone bearing of handle (top and bottom I hope it helps you my intention is just to help.. to follow or not is your own will and wish Thank you Best of luck

Hi Guys,

I did visit the workshop a week ago and nobody there was willing to help me. A mechanic asked me to contact the salesperson who i bought the bike from. Finally the guy bought a brand new zma r on tc no. and asked the mechanic to swap the front wheel and front tire from(the whole set) from the new bike to mine (PS: before doing that i also test rode the new bike and it also had front wobbling issue). I guess its a common problem with the 2011 zma. After the changes being made my bike and a new problem occured. The bike steering started shaking at speeds of 40 thru 60. Next thing i went to the pump and filled correct air pressures in both tires but still the front wobbles and the ride was very bumpy. However today i got the time and i took my bike to one of my trusted mechanic since i was dissatisfied with the workshop guys. My mechanic opened the whole front portion(The T, checknut, cone set, etc). He asked me do a fork thru since the bike was tilting towards the right when hands left. He also removed the cone set and inspected for any cracks but the coneset and the no. of ball bearings up and down were the same(21 up and 21 down). I then took the front axle, the whole t and the shock ups to the tuner and got it aligned. The axle was perfect but the T was slightly out
so got that fixed. After assembling the bike back still the damn wobble. I am extremely irritated with the bike. Please help experts

PS (Just my insights guys, could the damn tube be the culprit since MRF claims that the are having some common issues with their tires but i feel its the Tube. What say guys.) and one more very important thing below

Today before going to local mechanic i also visited hero workshop and the supervisor there took me for a ride to check what was the problem. In no time he landed at a tire shop and asked them to fill 30 psi at front and 34 psi at rear and then we moved on riding. When i rode the bike after the air being filled the wobbling completely disappeared but the bike became very bumpy so while going home i went to the fuel pump and on the actual machine checked the pressure and was shocked to see figures like 45 in front and 49 at rear. I really cant ride the bike with these figures and have a bumpy ride. Its too risky at high speeds. The above mentioned statement indicates that the tube could be the culprit. What do u guys have to say?

Thanks to all of you in advance.
