Default Tachometer for HH Splendor/Passion

As you all know Splendor and passion don't come with tachometers so ,
I am looking forward to install a tacho for fine tuning and also to give the bike a new feel.
I consider tacho to be a essential feature and not a luxury.

So what options do I have ?
Replacing the entire cluster with another bike's cluster and some wiring modifications(Tacho signal fom Cdi) ?

Please Help me out.

Even , I am looking for a hand-held rpm-meter like the one they use during routine service at the stealership . Any pointers anyone ?
As far as I can remember , those have a metal clip that clips outside the spark plug cable . So I guess it picks up the rpm count from the spark-plug pulses . Right ?

Have seen a small aftermarket tacho (which can be attached with spark plug adapter) in a car accessory shop somewhere in Delhi. Can 't remember well, cant tell you about price, features etc as i was some 12yrs old.

those are digital tachometers which run of small cells and are connected to some cable of the bike and reads the rpm

we also get 2'' tachometer for around 2200
and ranges till 7500

I guess those tachometers are good for engines with more than one cylinder as tachs for single cylinders are hard to find and they are way to costly.

(Tachs have a switch to select a single-double triple-four-six cylinders)

Hi,
Iam a newbie in xbhp and have the same query.
In my herohonda sleek, the old CBZ meter console is fitted. So I want to make the tachometer working(just for fun).
It is an electronic tachometer and has 3 terminals on the backside.I think one terminal is for 12V +ve,one for -ve(ground) and one for the signal pulse(square wave) input with frequency proportional to rpm.But I dont know the wire from CDI having a tacho out.
When I asked the electrical mechanic,he told that tacho can be made running(eventhough difficult)but needs a battery. And my hh sleek doesnt have a battery.
I think you can get it done....
Regards,
habin.

I also want to buy one ASAP.
Can Anyone find out the price and availability ?

I have a habit of messing up with carburetors AFR as I adjust it frequently, say almost every week . Not for mileage but for power but I end up overheating the engine

I found out that AFR can be adjusted with more accuracy if we use a tacho.
