  • Dents on the fuel tank of my bajaj pulsar

    Hello everyone
i have been noticing some depressions on my fuel tank since some days....there are no scratches....the bike did not fall...nor did anyone make them......tank is hard metal so how do these dents occur by themselves ?? really confused

    Vandalism?
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Do you hang your helmet on your hand when riding for short distances? Or when moving the bike around in the parking lot? Even small hits by the helmet on the tank end up in "soft" dents over time since when the helmet hangs on the hands, it always hits the same exact spot and that's what causes the dents. Of course this does not cause any scratches.

Another similar example I can give you is of a friend of mine who used to wear his back pack on the front while going to office. He kept his lunch box in the bag and over time he got a small dent in the exact same spot where his lunch box used to be in the bag. Same reason, over time the box is going to be tapping the tank on the exact same place with varying intensity depending on road conditions etc. and eventually he got a dent there (again no scratch).

Yours might be a similar case maybe?

Vandalism or handle touching tank, especially while parking.

It stays parked at my home or my coachings usually.
