  • Yamaha rx 135 oil leak and stopping problem

Hai I own myself yamaha rx 135 4 speed yeis 1999 model. The bike is second hand. The bike is in ok condition but it is rideable. A week after buying I can see oil seeping through the side stand, bottom and from the silencer front joint. Even though I wipe it with paper and cloth the next day I can see the same amount of oil seeping and other thing was carburetor overflow which got solved from a mechanic. Cleaning was needed for the carburetor. Another issue is that while riding for a couple of mile bike gets stopped and needs blowing from carburetor overflow pipe at the top. Couple of kicks with choke on (about 8-11 repeatedly) rx comes to life same happens after riding a couple of mile again. It's fustrating mainly in traffick block. I need to push my bike to side and do it. This process of starting take 5 minitues. Other than that it has no problem. I spoke to a mechanic about this he said it needs engine repaire and re-boring and will cost me around 7500 plus his work charge. Is it the problem of engine or any thing else. Please provide me solution that is easily curable without costing much.

Yes i will tell my bikes full details. Its acceleration speed is very good even i have beaten pulsar 180. For surprise bike doesn't emit much smoke at all. My friends make fun saying is it a Rx. No smoke at all very awkward. Smoke comes very limit when it goes at 80-90 kmh. Doest have over heating issue but only problem is gets stop while running or in traffic jams. I live in edapally.

I guess its not a problem of engine sometimes when the starting coil is week it will happen when the coil gets heated up the bike will stop once it gets cool it will start and run few kms and again the same problem comes..... Check the complete wiring unit with starting coil and CDI .. It is not the problem with the engine don't rebore the engine. Also let me know when this hiccup problem started whether it started after the carb is cleaned or its happening right from the beginning .
For the oil seepage from the front joint of the silencer, the package thread would have gone. The package thread will come around 20 to 25 Rupees, replace the new thread the problem will be solved.

How to stop oil leaks Nakulmenon10?
                    1. Change the gasket on the right side (kicker) between crankcase & outer casing. Normally this is the 90% of the reason why engine oil is flowing underneath
                    2. Check if the oil drain bolt underneath is free from threading issue; if this is the case, you're really doomed to spend like hell
                    3. Open the clutch side crank cover & check for any metal cracks or broken metal on the crankcase; if this is the case, again, you're doomed though there're juggads available
                    4. Replace the gasket between the cylinder & head; should cost you less than Rs 100

Check for these & post the outcome

Regarding rebore, get a compression meter & check the pressure; it has to be a minimum of 125+ psi. Anything below 110, yes, rebore is required.

Well, lots of reasons, let's start with a simple solution first...
Clean the fuel tank cap. Reason is simple, as the Petrol gets exhausted the level drops & adequate air needs to flow in to fill the gap. If this does not happen, there's vacuum formed & prevents the fuel from flowing below causing vehicle to stop.

Okay also check whether there is any air block in the Carb because of uneven injection of air and fuel this might happen ...
As Aargee sir said change all the gaskets so the engine oil leakage will be stopped ....
Check the compression and after that decide on boring don't waste a size in your bore ......
