You have to change the inner as well as the outer tubeOriginally posted by rx 2524 View Postif so is it enough to buy only outer of gladiator front fork leg and use the inner tube of my rx itself....
It will cost around 10,000 INR. You can go through the 2 stroke section for break up cost.Originally posted by rx 2524 View Postand can anyone provide a break up cost of each please

Re: addition of disc brakes to rx
Major part of the cost will be for the outer tubes, inner tubes, the caliper, master cylinder, hub and the rotor.
If you are opting for the pulsar disc set you can reduce the cost further.

Re: addition of disc brakes to rx
Im building a enduro of RX too. Thinking of getting soft i mean very soft suspensions ...any idea which front and rear suspensions i can install. Im thinking og gladiator front forks or of impulse's. They might be soft i guess.as per Rear im still looking hopefully impulse again or any other or duke's i guess.Originally posted by rxdude View PostMajor part of the cost will be for the outer tubes, inner tubes, the caliper, master cylinder, hub and the rotor.

Re: addition of disc brakes to rx
hi folks, i have a 2003 model rx 135 4 speed bought from my cousin brother a year ago. the bike was running on last over size and bore had almost seized. my brother informed of this before itself and gave the bike at a low price. i took it to my uncle's mechanic who plonked in a second oversize stock bore for a reasonable price after doing crank reset and all. but the problem is am not getting mileage above 25...have changed the carburettor thrice and the recently plonked another bore and stil the same problem....the bike has very good pick up and there is no even a little noise coming out from the engine....i really love this bike and dont want to sell it....experts please help me....there is no doubt about the mechanic as i have know him from few years and my friends and my cousin brothers friends rx's are serviced by the same mechanic and they all return fe of around 40 butnot my bike
...i and my mech have tried a lot to sort it out but stil not able to....i welcome the experts opinion...thanks in advance

Take it to Uncle's mechanic or Aunty's mechanic, this is the menace to undergo. Better learn to fix the bike yourself & enjoy a life long trouble free & problem free RxOriginally posted by rx 2524 View Postuncle's mechanicSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Re: addition of disc brakes to rx
I have to agree with Ganesh after reading this post. The bore is screwed I guess, is it genuine bore kit? A genuine bore kit costs 8,200 rupees. Changing carbs won't do the trick, you need to find a new GENUINE carb (Good luck) and tune it properly.Your engine would also benefit from a proper overhaul. Replace all the bearings, gaskets, oil seals etc. then you can expect better FE, still don't expect anything more than 35Kmpl. Maybe your riding habits are causing drop in FE, let your cousin's brother ride your RX and calculate the FE.Originally posted by rx 2524 View Posthi folks, i have a 2003 model rx 135 4 speed bought from my cousin brother a year ago. the bike was running on last over size and bore had almost seized. my brother informed of this before itself and gave the bike at a low price. i took it to my uncle's mechanic who plonked in a second oversize stock bore for a reasonable price after doing crank reset and all. but the problem is am not getting mileage above 25...have changed the carburettor thrice and the recently plonked another bore and stil the same problem....the bike has very good pick up and there is no even a little noise coming out from the engine....i really love this bike and dont want to sell it....experts please help me....there is no doubt about the mechanic as i have know him from few years and my friends and my cousin brothers friends rx's are serviced by the same mechanic and they all return fe of around 40 butnot my bike

Your mechanic seems to be taking you for a ride and maybe doing it yourself would be better.I am back!

Re: addition of disc brakes to rx
it has a mikuni carb and the bore's were given by my mech for free of cost both the times as he has acquired a few..i only paid for reboring it.........my compression readind is around 130psi...... all the clutch plates, con rod, engine bearings and all oil seals and gaskets were replaced when the engine was re done and it costed me around 5.5k to overhaul the engine....as far as my driving habits are concerned used to have this bike every fortnight from last 3 years and each time i ride would get mileage of 40kmpl when driven under 50kmph with proper gear shifts and when ripped it would stil return 30+kmpl....

Re: addition of disc brakes to rx
Have you run in the bike properly after the rebore? If its still running in then give it some time. With time as the engine sets in, mileage should improve. That is, ofcourse, if you are using a genuine block, a good piston and rings and everything is setup correctly.Originally posted by rx 2524 View Postit has a mikuni carb and the bore's were given by my mech for free of cost both the times as he has acquired a few..i only paid for reboring it.........my compression readind is around 130psi...... all the clutch plates, con rod, engine bearings and all oil seals and gaskets were replaced when the engine was re done and it costed me around 5.5k to overhaul the engine....as far as my driving habits are concerned used to have this bike every fortnight from last 3 years and each time i ride would get mileage of 40kmpl when driven under 50kmph with proper gear shifts and when ripped it would stil return 30+kmpl....
