I've done 300km 2haults run on Pulsar 150 at 46degrees, with Helmet on all the time. The bike was hot and so was I, I got an average of 63kmpl. It was difficult to keep the helmet with sweat all over the skull but the protection it provides is far above the wet hairs, I used to open the glass for some fresh air.
Bottom line always wear Helmet, casualty happens out of nowhere, its always better to be on the safer side. wbr Ayush |

Please wear the helmet at all times !! If you feel too stuffed in a full face, get the half face helmets !! But remember that jaw protection is also important, coz God forbid in the case of an accident, a smashed jaw/face will be as devastrating as a cracked skull !! Quote:

But the ZMA also is a proven "chick magnet" (forgive the cliche, no disrespect!!). As much as the AVVY, if not more !!

), every tom dick and harry goes to a bajaj showroom and buys his very own 'desi harley' i think its beauty lay in its minimal yet beautiful features.and since it has a 200 cc mill now, they think its some kind of superbike! you should actually see the stance of such people while riding it.. as if its a buffalo and they're holding it by its ears!

How I wish I had the Avenger 200. If funds wouldn't have been a problem, I would definitely have got myself an Avenger200. I would have modded it with twin round headlights instead of one [ a la Triumph Rocket III] and two chrome finished meters like the Thunderbird and leather saddlebags.
Oops! Sorry for the Dreaming/OT And yes those posers spoil the bikes' images. Pulsar has such a bad name and image because of these Goddamn posers. Now FZ-16 is on the same path and wealthy posers go for the R15.....thus spoiling their images too. Good that posers do not dig the Thunderbird. As for the best bike for touring under 1lakh, Avenger wins it for me. Above 1lakh, Thunderbird Twinspark has got no competition people! Sporty tourer: The Rock Solid ZMA

Yesterday I drove my gladiator '08 from Madurai to Chennai (500+ kms). I never did this route before and started around 5.30 in the morning. I was expecting to reach chennai only by evening, but the roads were grrreat and I reached by 1 o clock!!
I drove constantly between 90-100 (She goes till 105) and took only one break for not more than ten mins. Very little vibrations felt. My friends apache vibrates a lot more even at 70's. With helmet on, it was burning inside and I had to drink plenty of water. The bike runs on gulf pride 4t and I think some 150 ml of oil was used during the ride which i topped up later. The oil is 1500 kms old and still the same red colour! Impressed! Glady gives me the required speed and great braking too. The mileage was 42 kmpl because I've kept the mixture rich. I service the bike myself everytime. I had a heavy rucksack on the back but resting on the pillion seat. Absolutely no sense of imbalance or even the slightest back pain. Now can this be called a good touring machine? I think so! I've bought a bull in junk condition and working on it. The engine work is over and she runs great. The idling vibrations and the inability to use the mirrors at high speeds are a concern. The absense of fuel gauge add to it. I'll take another 2 months to get her done in perfect condition adding a fuel gauge, better electricals and lighting, better seats and tuff up tubes. After running in she'll be my next touring machine! In my opinion the comfort, road stability, engine endurance and braking confidence makes a touring machine and not the top speed or outright acceleration. Zma is a great tourer too. But I didn't have the money to buy one! |

the twin headlights!! i had gone to karol bagh this weekend to purchase those aquila type alloys, but the main distributor reckons they'll be available after 15 days! so i guess the alloys (see my post : Help regarding alloys for avenger) and the twin head lights coupled together would look mind blowing! wat say??
