Default HP or KN airfilter ?

hey guys i know that this topic has been discussed about **** times .. but ..
now i am sure to purchase a new airfilter for my RTR carb .. when i went to the shop that guy showed me HP airfilter .. i had never seen or heard about that company before .. nor it has any website ....
when i asked about the KN airfilter he said that HP is much better than KN ..

KN costs : 1800 RS i guess
HP cost : 650 RS

but the thing which i observed is .. HP has only steel mesh to filter the air .. no sponge or paper or whatever is need to block the dust particles ..
but i know that in KN sume material is there to prvent the micro dust particles ..

so guys which one should i go for ? .. has any one heard HP airfilter ?????

Hi sam92!

Hey man, I might be wrong, & please correct me if I am wrong, but then from what I remember, HP filters were for cars, weren't they?

Take care.

Happy & safe riding,
Prakhar

first of all Sam ..
am saying this more as your friend than an xbhp member ..

y are you so bent upon putting an air filter on your bike man .. the stock filter of the RTR is nice and RTR is a performance oriented bike ..

my take .. just let it be .. putting an air filter has its pros and cons .. u dont just fit it .. u have to set the proportion right .. re-jetting is needed .. and then the balance ratio has to be obtained ..

and RTR is already a nice and fast bike .. just let it be dude ..

HP filter costs around rs500 at krp. i think HP and K&N both have only steel mesh.
no point installing a filter without re-jetting your bike.

Thumbs up

Sam... HP ( Low Budget) , K&N ( High Budget) -- Both are Good

First of all one main question has to be answered.... Since you are going to Run in Secunderabad (I assume) How is the Atmosphere over there? Is it usually Dusty or not??? If it is Dusty I suggest you use ur OE Air filter available in the RTR.... The reason for this is I had used HP in my Pulsar 150 in Bangalore & there were no Problems but Once I got the Bike to Palghat (Kerala) she started to throw white smoke after 3000 - 4000 Km as there are loads of dust in the atmosphere & I had to get the Rings changed.....

So Decision is ur's Bro...

Cheers!!!!!!!

Dude I 've been using K&N since 10,000 kms and there's not a single problem relating to that.....Regarding rejetting, If you want your bike to perform well Go for it Otherwise Just tuning is enough....

@blackfire_9: Bro Even K&N makes filters for cars....
