Default Suggestion required: Servicing at Castrol Bike zone

Hi guys,
After exhausting my free services within 5 months of buying P150, went to Castrol bike zone for first service. As It has been under free services for last 8K kms. Decided to go for their Gold service.
Well, set me back with 355 Rs. And add onto that 305Rs (for they recommended semi synthetic Power1 engine oil)..

Feeling, price is a bit steep. though they have silver (255Rs) and normal (155Rs.) services also.
i generally ride with a pillion averaging 1500-2000 KM per month including touring on weekends. Can someone suggest what should be correct combination of services like Gold then normal then silver etc... And should i go for fully synthetic oil next time.

Usually Silver service per 2000 km is good. The rest of the bike issues(if you have any) can be sorted out by just a word of mouth. You can go for Gold Service per six months or as per your budget limits.
Gold service include tappet adjustments, engine compression check and carburetor check etc.
Castrol BZ in Lucknow is quite good and the mechanics are quite experienced in their trade. However the experience may differ from city to city.

yes, gold service is their 'top thing'..

they said, my rpm was wrongly set to 1400 at idle and reset it to 1000..
after servicing bike feels good.. but feeling somewhat strained while accelerating from 60 to 80..
will check it out on highway on weekend.. otherwise will got it tuned back for better performance.. can't curb stitching in my right wrist

I agree with you puneet..

this weekend went on highway.. and ripped like anything.. Max was 105.. and 108 on slopes.. Whereas, I normally do 115 and 120 on slope..
So got back to castrol guys and asked to increase the rpm.. He said, he has done it perfectly and it should be 1000 RPM for best mileage and performance.. I told him, i don't give a damn about mileage.. just reset it to higher power..

right now it's at around 1200 for idle.. let's C.. would get time to check next weekend only..

Either this is something new for that castrol mechanic or I am missing something.. let's C ..

one more thing..

In the morning, I generally start with chauk on.. It's giving lots of white smoke initially since last week.. later it's fine..

Castrol mechanic suggested me to use chauk, only when it doesn't start without chok.. so let's C..

White smoke?? That means there is something seriously wrong! You need to look into it!!

The mechanic was correct - use choke only when you know the bike won't start without it. And pull it only to the min. required extent. After few times, you should be able to predict when and how much to use it.

You should set the idle RPM exactly where its recommended by Bajaj.
