Query Approved

Welcome to xBhp!

Why did you add a poll to your query? Did not quite get the idea!

bikes usually take time getting to 3 figure mark after 80 due to high increase in air drag and viscous force experienced by the rider after this speed..if u lean n accelerate, u might be able to post a better acceleration in the range..also at higher rpms the losses in the moving parts increase considerably and hence u need to push the throttle a lot..that's why rpms around 4-5k give the best mileage..
u might go for k&n air filter, free flow exhaust, iridium plugs, sprocketing and upjetting if u wish to increase the performance..bt mind u, these adjustments need a trained mechanic to be able to get optimum performance.. Also u need to take greater care of the engine since it now becomes more vulnerable..changing oil frequently will somewhat prolong its life..

bro,a 180cc that too a march 2009 model,AFAIK should go to atleast 100~110 easily and then do wat all u said..(cause my 4 year old uni does that, goes to 110 easily and then takes some time to reach 120~128)

get ur bike checked immidiately at the service center....

Default Apologies

I am really sorry. But I hope Ken you will know that I am pretty new to the user forum and really have no idea as to how the poll got added. Regarding my bike, its a March 2009 pulsar 180, however maybe astonishing for people, it takes a long time to reach 100 k.p.h..So irnoies and question marks apart, i really need some suggestions without porting my engine as to how to make it achievable?

Replace the Air Filter if it was not,
Clean the Carburator and Tune up the Jets
Since its a 2009 Model there should be no issues with the Bore Kit/Piston
Ensure Engine oil is fine

Get it checked with a reputed Bike mechanic/Tuner
P180 should Ezly do 100-110
My 2005 Unicorn does Ez 115, takes some time for 120-127

Check for Chain slackness.
The chain should have around 25 to 35 mm slack on its lower side. This happened to me once, the chain was over tightened[just 10mm slack]
Riding the bike felt like riding a bloody underpowered moped. And it got maxxed out at 98km/h. No matter for how long i held the throttle full open, the bike just wouldn't cross 100km/h. Earlier i had touched 122km/h on the same bike. Mine is a 2008 P180 UGIII.
The 2009 p180 is capable of a bit more and i guess the guys who sold it to you didn't do a thorough PDI. Get it checked from the service centre. If they act smart, go to a local mechanic and ask him to diagnose and then go back to service centre and tell them what exactly the problem is.
