You guys seems to know a lot but still felt like tossing my two cents. Most of the Indian Fuel Injected bikes are using Cheap Open loop FI systems, these systems doesnt have a Lambda or O2 sensor in the exhaust. So in layman terms fitting a performance air filter to R15 is not gonna give you any benfit whatsoever in terms of performance. But you can be assured of a better intak roar.

PS: This particular topic has been discussed to death here on Xbhp, you should have searched a little harder.

and the bike sounds awesome like as if i have fitted nos to it when i changes gear at high RPM...
There is a slight difference in the way a FI bike and a Carb based bike works...

I have been running a R15 on a K&N for like 2 weeks and Yes it will help you with a small amount of midrange, but will loose its top end...

PS: I was NOT running the K&N for any PPM (*Poof* Performance Mods) but used it ONLY because my paper filter got fkd by the SVC guys... and I had one in spare!

If you want to replace R15's filter, take an injection and punch holes into the paper filter around 4-5 small one's on every side..
or put a Uni_foam's one layer to give it better flow, do not put anything like a K&N.

That is indeed a very nice thing that you have posted but Bandhav if he would have searched it he would not even have posted the thread,

Hence when did not bother to find it, he would not be taking any pain to understand what is an open loop or a closed loop F-i system..

So i just posted my views in layman's term to explain not to anything to it!
i think i posted it correct,aint I.?

This Thread's Life has also Reached, Time to Close it! LOL.

Bandhav is correct and spot on.

R15 comes with a high volumetric efficiency sports type air filter and a huge 3 liter air bucket. It is really good enough.

Installing a K&N would only help you make your R15 sound like an Auto to start with.
