  • Hyderabad-Bellary-Hyderabad tour

Hi guys, my friend invited me to his brothers wedding in bellary, i thought lets go on bike and see how it goes as i had a long wish to travel long on my p150ug3. Below is the outcome of my experienc with this tour.

Part-1: My tour experience , how it went

Part-2: About roads and roads to avoid

    part-3: Lessons.

    part-1:

    Planned route: Hyd-beechupalli-adoni-alur-bellary

    Went on : Hyd-kurnool-aspari-alur-bellary.

i and my friend started on 3-april-2010 by 5:30PM to bellary , first thing we need to fuel our bike , thought there would be FS[fuel stations] out there many, we forgot that hyderbad was under curfew clouds since 3 days ... were reaching out skirts of city there are all over police ,police and police.. FS closed.. at last my machine stopped and we thought this is the perfect begining to a trip.Finnally managed to get fuel on city outskirts , here we go vroom... started our trip... roads are butter smooth 4 line ... constantly gng @ 70-75KMpH. after 1 hr reached jadcherla had rotis in dabha[munnavar, good one] Reached beechupally there we need to take a right turn towards adoni but couldnt figured out were we need to take that due to all new high way.. went till kurnool in 2 1/2 hr .. there we saw a sign to bellary 159KM.. thought in another 3 hr we would be in bellary.

Now it all started here... started from kurnool after drinking nannari [popular summer drink, its not alocohal ] at first roads were really good smooth 2 liner roads nice cool breeze comming in the night.... suddenly we are on reserve forgot to fill @ kurnool... we reduced speeds to 40-50 to get max mileage so that we would reach nearest FS. at least we found FS and refueled ..... slowly roads showed their actual colors... pits big big pits u need to be really consious while driving @ speeds of 60-70KMPH.. we hit 2-3 pits decided to reduce speed to 40-50. Suddenly Bike started giving some noise of metals thought it was bcoz of loose num plates or some thing as we hit big pits.. cntd our journey slowly in complete darkness... we had little fear in our minds abt out safety riding on such a lonely roads @ 10:30 PM ...cntd out fight with pits... then came the thunder ... bike started to give big sound as if there is no silencer .. we were shocked ... luckiley in front of us there was a FS.. went there gave a close look at bike to find what hppnd.. then my frnd startd to move the silencer it was like piece of metal hanging loosely.. problem was one of the screw located at start of silencer from where it gets i/p from engine was loosely fixed ... [Flash Back] remember i mentioned some noise of metal earlier.. yes it was this screw's sound we ignored it earlier and we lost it now..nearst place where we could get this done was aspari. it was already 11:30 pm couldnt find any mech .. so we started slowly with the same noise.. then my intelligent friend said if one was lost then there is high chance the second one might also go any time lets check it... bhoom yes he was right it was also loosely fixed we managed to fix it tightly with toolkit.. and noise was recuded to 80%... good sense my friend..

continued our journey... some p150s over took us and went ahead.. we still gng at 50kmph... now a real welcome... suddenly we found there is no road at all[i said no road not way] ... only kachha road.. with realy big pits.. though we are finished today... we were already tired and this gave us an extra frustration.. it took 30 mins to cross 2 km road.. it was the same situation of bad rds till bellary... this was the worst route i had ever seen in my life... it was almost 2AM now went into the town .. we didnt know kanada .. started to get lodge info by speaking telugu .. to our suprise almost all @ bellary speak telugu.. managed to get a room @ 3AM that too only for 4 hours slept went to friends hotel he and his frnds were shocked to know that we came on bike.. relaxed a bit for 2 hrs.. repaired silencer .... i suddenly thought of checking the tyres health .... to my expectation i saw a big steel piece in the rear tyre . it got into the tyre at almost 180 degree we were really lucky that we did not get a special effect of punture..that night..

Attended marriage ... went back to room relaxed for 30 mins and started our juorney back to hyderabad @ 3:30 PM.. @ FS fuel boy was also surprised that we came from hyd on bike.. this time we decided to took a diff and good route[as told by locals]..

    Bellary-Guntakal-Gooty-Done-Kurnool-hyd

Route from bellary to guntakal is a real shit.. i wondered whether Karnataka Govt has forgot to lay roads... to travel 38 KM it took us 2 hrs... reached guntakal.. rd from guntakal is good 2 liner.. raised our throttle to 70kmph.. and continued till gooty finally came on the 4 liner NH-7 it was like we almost reached hyd.. now from here it was like smooth affair.. ate @ jadcherla in dabha opp to munavar.. as we were on the other side of rd this time.. finally reached hyd @ 12 AM .. to my surprise ther is stilll curfew in city we had to take a long route of 30KM to reach home which other wise was around 10KM... reached and immedietly slept..

Part-2: Roads from kurnool to aspari are below avg... but from aspari to some point abt 20 km it is real bad..

routes to avoid.. kurnool-aspari-alur-bellary. take the route bellary-guntakal-gooty-done-kur-hyd[need to bare the 38Km horrible road].

    Part-3: lessons learned

    1) Always wear a glass shield to protect ur face from wind and fliers...at high speeds visibility gets reduced if u dont wear any wind protection.

    2) Always go on highways.. no shorcuts if u r on night journey that too on 2 wheeler.

    3) Smell some problem with the bike stop and immediately check. THis will not increase the prob.

    4) always check ur fuel levels and refuel. and carry some light source[flash light] and tool kit.
on 4 wheels u feel the speed after a crash, 2 wheelers are much more advanced

      Wow!
Reminds me of our Kodachadri trip last year.

You could have enquired abotu the route to bellary in Hyd G2G thread atleast. We wasted almost half a day reaching Bellary via Guntakal that day. So, nothing has changed so far. Great.

BTW, were you not wearing a Helmet?
(had to ask based on your comment about protection to face from wind!)
