    Gearing Commander - A must-have tool for sprocket lovers & modders

    Lot's of motorcycle owners want their bike to behave differently from stock or current setup at certain speeds or RPM. In that case there are several ways to achieve that and one of them is changing the gearing. The Gearing Commander can be used to predict the effect the change will have and thus save you spending money on the wrong parts !

    The most common changes people make are different Rear Sprocket, different Front Sprocket, different Tire size and different Chain as a result of sprocket change.

      Thats a very nice chart need to see how accurate is this.

        this is more for americans where they have acess to a variety of sprockets ,what can we do with this ,we will be happy to get 1 different tooth sprocket for our bikes

          Requesting details regarding tire Circumference

          hi guys,
          kindly help me to find out the Tire circumference details for my slingshot running on stock secura zoom 3(inch?) rear tires for entering in the Gearing commander website.
          how do you find out the Aspect ?? i think rim is 18(inch?).

            i own a FZ16. I plan to change the stock sprockets(14/40). Am thinking of increasing front sprockets to 16 and rear sprocket to 38....What will be its effect on the bike good or bad in mileage and top end power.

              We R15 owners are lucky then, aren't we? Yamaha has provided us with a set of aftermarket sprockets and chain in the form of the Daytona Kit. Not that I use them, I am perfectly satisfied with the way my bike has been geared by Yamaha. But it is good to know that they are available if I ever require to change the gearing.

                Circumference = 3.1416 X (Rim diameter+ tyre profile height+ tyre profile height)

                In the above formula, rim diameter and tyre height should all be in inches.

                If your tyre says 110/80 x 18, then your tyre profile height = 80% of 110mm which is 88mm. Convert this to inches to apply to the above formula. 88mm = 3.46 inches.

                But if it says a number like 3.00 x 18, then I'm not exactly sure, but it must be a square tyre of 3.00 inches height and width both. Then, tyre height = 3.00 inches.
                Remember, check only rear tyre's size for gearing calculations. Or instead of calculating yourself, use the below site page to calculate diameter:
