    Friends,

Still 2009 Independence day alive in my memory. How time flies.

We have 30 days time to plan for 2010 Independence day ride. Lets make it much bigger than the earlier one. And of-course without our senior's support we won't be able to do that.

This thread is just for discussion. After completing the Iday ride successfully there will be another thread where we can post pics and etc details.

    Lets start
    • The thing we need to fix
    • Are we riding in city or going a bit out of city ?
    • Which place you have in your mind where we can take such an huge crowd
    • Can we get tee-shirt printed for this event as well ?
    • According to the destination we need to fix up the meeting place and time

This post will be edited very often with necessary informations.

    EDIT: Updated with the plan

    Destination: Kanva Dam

    Meeting point: NICE Road junction

    Time of meeting: 6 AM

    Ride plan:

We will assemble at NICE Road junction at sharp 6.15 AM, and ride out at 6.30.

We will have breakfast at Hotel Indradhanush on the way to Kanva Dam, and then ride to Kanva Dam. Following this, we will attend a flag-hoisting at the local school there (to be confirmed, based on operation of school there), and then ride back to Bangalore.

We should ideally be back by noon or so.

Full protective gears, and papers mandatory. Zero tolerance in this regard. Riders deviating from this will be sent back

Thank you sunny for approving the thread. Lets start organizing an awesome I-day ride this year.

Will post more details at night

Without whom the I-day ride never get proper shape, he is our Sunil Sir. We eagerly waiting to get your input. I know Sunil Sir prefers to ride in City but again I always prefer to go out from the city with large group.

Yay!! My favourite ride is here.
Was discussing this with n_aditya & Akhil offline, & here it comes.

We should paln for a ride on the highway, considering we are expecting a huge participation (last year we had about 45 bikes). And this year should be BIGGER!
Krishnagiri was done last year, so lets look at something else.

@John: I hope you have a destination or 2 lined up for discussion, in the post tonight.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

First post updated. Regarding locations, lets have the recomendations coming in. The requirements

                  1. Distance 100kms or less each way (approx)
                  2. Parking of huge number of bikes should not be an issue
                  3. Availability of hotel/restaurant/dhaba on the way or close to destination
                  4. Fun to ride

No problem dude. Now we are tension less. Tri-state GTG we got tee for only Rs. 115/-. I guess folks here never mind to get an special tee for the giant event this year. What say guys ?

If we can come up with design fast then we can order tee. Order can be placed after collecting money from each rider

                    So co-operate friends

John, I have a suggestion here.
For the tri-state ride, we ended up with a few extra T-shirts that are still lying around, and people might not be too keen to pick them up as it says tri-state meet.
Keeping this in mind, for the I-Day ride, we should get a rough number of T-shirts printed in advance as confirmations would take time to pour in & it might be a bit late to get the T-shirts ready in time. This is something that can be discussed though.
The more important aspect I feel is that the T-shirts should have the tri-colour & the xBhp logo, without mentioning "Independence Day Ride". This way, the message would be conveyed (using the tri-colour), and the T-shirt could be used on other rides, & generally. With this design, even the extra T-shirts can be picked up by other members later IMO.

                            Hi Guys,

I prefer a City ride for a reason, & that's to echo our patriotism, encourage people to demonstrate our love for country at least once a year publicly.

Suggest that we start from Shell Petrol bunk near UB city & go around the city (at least 10Kms on non metro work areas), attend a flag hoisting, have breakfast inside city, leave to Bhoga Nandi temple at the base of Nandhi hills, take line up shots enroute, conclude the ride at an NGO, meet the kids Make a donation & call it a day.

Would also like to invite other forum bikers to join-in too .
As usual ALL BIKES WILL NEED TO HOIST A FLAG & I will arrange flags for all bikes.

                            Cheers
                            Sunil
