  • What happened to the TVS Taurus Fiero F3

Today i was just looking randomly at available and to be launched 250cc bikes in india; and at a couple of sites & forums, i saw a bike by TVS being discussed.

Something called the Taurus Fiero F3. Saw the pictures of the bike and it looked reall neat. I couldn't find any technical specification or current news updates on it. Kindly enlighten me as to what happened to this bike. Is it ever going to be released or is it even true.

I tried searching through the forum for past discussions on this bike but couldn't find any so just thought i shall ask about it.

here are a few links that i visited:

Lol!!! Those pics are atleast 2 years old. The first link is updated somewhere in 2007 & the other one in 2009. These are something like what Satyen said on the other thread

It is atleast about 4 years old design. A concept actually, displayed at previous to previous Auto Expo and which never saw the light of day

Most of the concepts are never put in production.
Reason being, mostly they are to show the capabilities of a company as what they can do and how talented they are.

Every couple of months we get similar threads being posted here in xBhp from new members regarding the Taurus. It gets me to wonder how much influential the design was because even in other biking forums most of the people are spreading the rumours about its launch or enquiring about it.

Which means the bike if launched with those design elements it would surely catch the attention of many.

This could be one bike which would bring a big turnaround something like what FZ and R15 did for yamaha

This concept was launched in 2005 auto expo if my memory is right ! It was one of the most influential design with an underseat exhaust and introducing rear disc for the first time , low profile wide radials much before FZ was launched, killer muscular appeal. if only TVS could have launched it with some vague similarities atleast an year back, they could have given a tough competition to all these japan 250 which are coming and going to get launched soon. hope they will open their eyes and launch it before hyosung, yamaha n suzuki launch their part of 250 !!
BTW when i had a chance to visit TVS factory at hosur last year as part of an industrial visit, i happened to see a motocross type monstrous tvs bike with an oversquare 250cc engine like in RTRs. They could atleast detune that to street spec and launch it with a fresh chassis and body panels competent, not same as taurus, but enough to stand up with all other 250 s in the market!

It was 2004 Auto Expo. The specs read: 250cc VTi engine.

In 2006 Auto Expo TVS showcased Predator, a 500cc cruiser too!!

                        F3

I think TVS is following Suzuki's footsteps here. Both of 'em want to get hold of the smaller segment first.

How I wished that something like the F3 comes alive........Phew!

May be TVS thought that its not right time back then. But market has grown enough to accept these bikes.
To my utter amazement i saw four exhaust pipes on the pic 2nd link shown.that's really good looking bike except front was looking like a cruiser and remaining like naked sports.TVS has really good concept models. It's high time they realize.
                          @ajaydhanshu
every company wants a strong hold in commuter segment. After all it's where the money is.

Whenever i see bikes or cars i see adrenalin pumps instead of people carriers.Thats the way to define an automobile.

                            Yes Ultiracer! I understand that.

I hope they bring out something like the F3 in mid segment!
