Hi I got my Hyosung GT650N delivery on Friday. Chose it over the Ninja 650R because i love the glorious sound and midrange torque of a V-twin over a parallel twin. Also the waiting period of the Ninja sucks. They haven't even re-opened the bookings yet since so long

I didn't like the clip-ons of the GT650R. It made me lean so much that it narrowed and lowered my field of vision. Not good in our traffic scenario where people, vehicles and dogs can stray into your path from different directions so you need to sit on a high perch without straining your neck to spot them faster. I didn't like the supersport riding position of the GT650R, felt that it is only good for track. On the other hand, the GT650N has quite a sporty riding position with a good forward lean while not as aggressive as the 650R. The footpegs also are slightly forward than the 650R in the naked version but still sporty. And the single piece handlebar of the naked bike is much more comfortable than the clip-ons of its faired cousin

In the naked version, the blacked out twin tubular trellis frame, inverted telescopic forks and the massive V-twin engine are exposed to reveal all the brawn and muscle of the bike giving it a much better raw appeal than the 650R. For me, the naked wins the award in looks category hands down.

The power is exhilarating. The midrange torque is so addictive, i am sure it will give an inline twin a run for its money between signal to signal traffic. It may not rev as high as a parallel twin but torque this bike has got in spades and will be a serious force to reckon with in street riding scenarios.

The bike is quite nimble though not as light because of its 207 kg kerb weight but it is as stable a rock in a straight line. This is truly a streetfighter and its got a marvelous engine, absolutely brilliant... no doubt about that.

                    Thanks peeps.

Not much else to update yet. Still getting used to the monstrosity :P

I chose black and naked for a bit of stealth. But haven't been particularly successful in that aspect.

Have done little over 400 km so far. Enjoyed every single one of them. This thing demands cruising at 100-120 kmph. below that, it isn't much happy. I can live with that.

I am still struggling with using brakes correctly. I use both but have locked up rear 4-5 times. Nothing out of control. Seems planted well.

And one thing. The ground clearance. I scraped the bottom on couple of speed breakers. With a pillion rider. Wasn't expecting that. But it means one thing. No more pillion riders

No idea on mileage. Its drinking like new year party, but will measure it after first service.

                    Till then.. take care..

these monsters carry more momentum because of more weight and speed, so u need to have your basics correct specially when braking and cornering. please don't get offended. but please read the information in "Art of Riding" section about braking. maximum amount of braking force comes from front brakes and maximum amount of traction is also provided by front tyres when braking, use less of rear brake and more of front brake. smaller indian bikes are generally more forgiving than these bikes

or may be lighter pillion, for ex. girls

Congrats for your new bike.... Its amazing to ride the 650N over 650R in City.
Make sure the brake lock up fixed properly, there are chances of bike get skid during the lock up.

Guess ground clearance is better than 650R, since it is without fairing.

                            Anyways happy miles... drive safe
People look for mileage... But I choose Mile Age
