First of all, Welcome to xBHP.

Secondly, Wow! You are planning this like 6 months in advance? Makes me wonder, what other places have you visited on the bike? The actual route can come later.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

        Mumbai-vadodara-ahmedabad-abu road-sirohi.

        Sirohi ya sirohi road,btw?
Sirohi Road is the suburb directed from Sojat, Sirohi being the r.station much inwards.

        Things you'll need;
A petrol slip from a mumbai petrol bunk.
        One litre of spare petrol.
A small bottle of chain lube.
A small bottle of coolant - if ur bike uses it.
        A punture repair kit+tyre inflator,if possible.
        Extra rope.
        HID,if possible, for your bike.
        A mobile charging unit.

        Water depending on your need.
Sleeping bag (not necessary at all but upto you at the end).
        Packed dry food-mug noodles,etc.
        A packet of chocolates.
        A packet of glucon-D.
        First aid kit. Take two.
        Extra bag.
        Sim card with ample currency.
An extra sim card of a different network with ample currency (make sure 1 of the 2 is BSNL)
―funny as it may sound, the above two are a few of the most important things which are most easily forgotten.
        Riding jacket.
        Kneepads.
        A very good helmet.
        Riding gloves.

It helps to have a friend (xBhpians are better here) in each n every major city you pass. You can need them in emergencies.

Service your bike before the trip.
Tyres are of utmost importance here. Majority of the accidents happening on any expressway are due to the bursting of the tyre from over heating.
        Its about 800kms.

        Goodluck!

@ Bikeratheart - He is just doing a 800kms trip & he is not travelling into a no man's land

          Why Petrol slip from Mumbai?
Why additional petrol (He can find N number of fuel pumps all the way)?
Gone are the days where we need to carry so much of water stuff, we can get bottled water anywhere on the way
          Why a sleeping bag?

@TS - Just chill, have your bike serviced and keep it in good condition, have your riding gears, google for routes

Travel light & you would enjoy your ride

Except the Vadodara - Ahmedabad stretch, all other stretches are speed freaks paradise

Don't forget to ride between Mt Abu - Moras - Gogunda - Udaipur stretch as well.

Except that, everything else is agreed 200%; we never carried water through out our GQ either, that too in peak summer; when you've good friends around, you really don't need anything to carry, isn't it Mr. Ramesh

Just to be safe Rameshanna. If not 2 atleast 1li do no harm na?

News: 'Bisleri' isnt 'Bisleri'. The water sold around Gujarat and Rajasthan is highly contaminated as those bottle are used ones gathered at railway stations and filled with whatever water available, taped and sold off.
Just to be safe than sorry.

              *Why a sleeping bag?
Okay that was unnecessary. But again, just incase he wants to take some rest by a dhaba where the chyaar paayis are full.

Anyone having traveled across GJ & RJ knows very well, esp GJ, you really get bored of seeing a good fuel station for every 1 Km; yes every 1 Km starting probably from Valsad all way up to Ahmedabad. Remember, it's not Leh

Slice & Maaza gives you the energy in form of sweet & water in form of liquid; there're good hotels & places enroute.

@aargee: You dont really think I'll debate you of all people, now do you?

Well anyway, its good to know there are so many petrol bunks enroute.
And that maaza is readily available. Just hope the bottled-water is genuine, though. Honest!

See, the point is not about debating; if you said anything on NE, I would've not even thought to say anything here because I don't know & I haven't been there. GJ's infra is so good that, its easily possible to do Mumbai to RJ in one day unless we're riding a moped; it's hardly about 700 Km & easily doable even in any reliable age old motors.

Absolutely no doubt; but when on rides, I usually intake less solid food; Slice gives energy through sugar, viscous enough to satisfy momentary hunger & quench the thirst; another benefit is that, I can supplement body salt, yet without having to get the sour taste of it & most importantly...save time

                        See thats the point.
I have been to Rajasthan a thousand times but never by road, so little did I know the bunks were so closely situated.
The spare petrol and water bottle points were thus stated as general touring necessities. Thats it.

Well, I am a foodie.. and I just can't resist a hot meal so end up eating local dhaba food everywhere I go . The only thing I make sure is that whatever I eat is extremely spicy (just the way I like it ), and finish it off with a cup of sugary dhaba tea, just so that I don't get drowsy . My food stops happen at around 9.30-10 for breakfast, 3.30 / 4PM for lunch and 8.30/9 PM for dinner..

Carrying Water, I feel, is necessary. I start cramping up if I drink too little water. Thats why I carry 2* 1 liter bottles of water on multi day rides and keep buying a new one as soon as I finish one, so 1 is always spare if I happen to enter an area where I cannot find water. For single day rides, 1 bottle is usually enough.

Warning: Never drink Red Bull / Cloud 9 etc. when drowsy. Always take a break and have some tea/coffee or take a power-nap. Mango Mood (sugary candy) is a good cure if you get drowsy and don't find a tea stall / restaurant / dhaba nearby.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
