  • RE-Bullet... My Bikes... From Racing... Moved to Vintage....

    Hi All,

I'm Suresh Kumar Nama, from Chennai (Tamil Nadu).

Registered in x-BHP few weeks back.

I am here to discuss with like minded guys about BIKES.

Its was end of 2005 when i just kicked off with my Superbike from Mumbai. 2005 Honda Repsol Limited Edition. Later i was into Ameen's team in chennai till 2009. Have participated in many chennai Tracks. Been with racing guys to Malaysian trips ( not for racing there, just to enjoy Moto GP ). but had really good time until i was into racing. Later i was forced to sell my bike. Most people guess it right... Its my marriage !

So post marriage i couldnt come out of this bikes... So started to smell old petrol... Yeah my vintage passion came out. Started with my 1957 Raliegh Bicycle. An unexpected interview from Hindu (The Hindu : Life & Style / Leisure : Pedalling into the past)

Just tried to pick a 175 Rajdoot GTS of Mysore Number, unfortunately sold it. Further vintage friends from chennai intoduced me to Jawa world. With Gavin's help i bought 2 different Jawa mopeds. Yet again in hindu (The Hindu : Life & Style / Metroplus : Nuts and Colt)

Between these I was into Bullets... Yeah my first was 1968 MSQ Royal Enfield Bullet 350. Had very nice original fitting. so restored it and gave to my dad for his daily use when i bought 1961 MSW Royal Enfield Bullet 350. This bike was fully restored already. So i had less job. Just all chrome work was my add ons to the bike.

While trying to get the tool box for this 1961 Bullet, i saw a 1964 MSS Lambretta Series 2 model, with the first owner, with original paint. So bought it in 2009 few days after my marraige. Till date its not restored... But using it then and there.... Still this one is parked in my home.... This gave me a nice experince in Scooters. So picked a 1972 Royal Enfield Fantabulous Scooter from Chennai, But Mumbai registered. I dint try to restore it. Had it added to my collection.

In a month time, i got a ample number of Yamaha Rx series from Engine specs IL1 to IL7, nothing but its first 1986 model to last 2005 model.

Few weeks later Varun Cyrus, gave me a offer for his Vespa GS 150 of 1966 Model, MSR registered. So added to my collection.

Later I was mapped to buy a 1954 Royal Enfield 350, Full army specification bike in 2009 end. This bike was parked without restoration for 1 year, started my retoration, 3 days back completed the project. Last 2 days running it... Good stifactory job from my Mech Sundar in Ellis Road., behind LIC.

I had many visitors like Rajdoot 175, Yamaha RX 100 12 V Edition, Yamaha RXZ 5 Speed Bike from MH.

Later I added 1959 Royal Enfield MSX registered Bullet 350. This was again a basket job. Restored now.

Finally my favorite Lambretta 150 D was bought from Varun in chennai which is MSY registered Scooter. Fully retored by my friend itself.

After this Favotire, i had one more great deal on 1955 Royal Enfield 350 "Spring Frame" model Mag/dynamo Bullet. MSY registered. So bought it.

Immediately i also added a MSW Lambretta of 1961 Model, Suppose to be Series 1, but horncast has been changed in past by first owner... so my daily time pass is restoration of this Scooter now.

Between my 1955 Bullet and Lambretta Series 1 scooter, i had a very very good deal from 1959 MSX registered Ambassador Mark 1 from Trichy. So now enjoing it as my daily use vehicle.

Most of my bikes are restored. And runnning daily.

Thanks in advance friends who read this with some time.

Keep You posted, if i add anything to my collection....

    Regards
    Suresh Nama

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

          Hi Suresh,
but again I can see you been so lazy in posting pics
If you would have gone through the posting instructions & stuff in this forum, you can see, the pics can be loaded to some photo sharing sites & than get the link pasted here.....so that all of us can see the pics clearly ( instead of going for lazy short cut methods)
          * I strictly disagree with you on that " Scooty Pep" s color scheme....ah!! what a fluorescent color it is...
When ever I pick it for my local commuting(when 'am at Chennai)....I love to ride it not only for its riding pleasure at Chennai's crazy traffic, wherever I park it.....I couldn't miss it from my sight because of the FLUORESCENCE

** About your CBZ HH...ah!! you have hided, let me try it on my next trip

*** As usual though I haven't seen your VESPA in flesh..it is gorgeous man!!

***** Before asking about your cute devil" Lambertta model D ", what on earth makes that 3 letters MSY so special for most of you Chennai guys??
There is plenty to cherish about that wonderful scoot ( model D), but you guys satisfied with those 3 letters M- S- Y
, better replace that rear tail light of your beautiful Scooter & also get a period tail light for your Vespa VBB.

On serious note, How on earth a Pillion rider will get into the seat of that Bullet, need a ladder ? ..........except that lousy seat ...Bull is FULL !!
          Cheers!!
          KMK
ps: @ others (i.e., other than RE-Bullet) : Plz don't think as 'am behaving too rude or sarcastic ..I have right to point out or poke him, what say Suresh???......there is PM for you about your OHV Amby :-)
pps: This guy (RE-Bullet) has immense knowledge about Bullets...I ask him to visit Bullet related threads at this forums and get involved with the like minded guys ( even I can see few MSY die hard fans there !!)
