  • confused to choose R15 or not...pls suggest

    Hello All

I am from bangalore.I want to buy a R15 but its cost is making me to think twice. I mostly use bike to commute to office or some here and there only and from office to my home it is 30 km up and down and this daily communition falls from J P nagar to Marathali road and I hardly go for any rides but sometimes I go.So seeing this scenario please suggest which bike to take. I like the looks of R15 very much and I did the test drive its performance is good but there was a bit feel of uncomfortable while riding as I used to ride before a royal enfield bullet and I had sold it. So please suggest now which bike to go for seeing these scenario.

    Regards

      Hi Anshu,

Apart from daily commute what other requirements do you have on selecting your bike
Ex - Looks, Tourer, Fuel Efficiency, Budget ??

R15 is also a very good bike and its worth for money, it is one of the best handling bike after ZMA

I say go for it if your budget permits you to. You re gonna really enjoy your daily runs on the outter ring rd if you take it traversing from JP nagar to the Marthhalli rd. The R15 is gonna be fast, Handle like she is on rails and is going to be a refined ride as far as the riding position you re gonna get used it bro. It s one of the best stances for a motorcyclist.

            +1 to that!

The seating posture of the bike will take getting used to.. A couple of weeks is what it takes IMO..
But its definitely worth all the money you put into it.. All that the R15 needs in B'lore is Open Roads (bit difficult to find), & no interceptors around..
Its a complete package.. Don't think twice if your budget allows it..

No practical experience, but Yamaha has launched it as a tourer primarily..
It won't fail you anywhere, but if you are not utilizing it fully, I would be thinking twice before investing that much money..

Think about it a little harder.. Is there a possibility, that you might start weekend touring? banglore is perfect place to tour/roam around.. If not, shortlist couple of more bikes just to test against R15.. test drive all.. and then finalise.

there are couple of bikes CBF-Stunner with Fi, Yamaha- Fazer, Enfield-again etc..

@anshuman: If your budget permit don't look around for anything else. Just go for the R15. It's an amazing bike.

                Err was that a typo?
Cuz even a RTR will have a ZMA for breakfast when it comes to handling leave alone the R15. The Zma has a lot of virtues but handling isn't the top one.

I have shortlisted R15 first and till yesterday than when I put up the question and after a lot of searching on the net I was thinking Pulsar 220 DTS-i too because of R15's cost of rs112250,but when I rode the pulsar DTS-FI of my friends I didn't feel that masti as I felt in R15 ,

enfield was an experiment i.e thought to have a different taste so i took enfield but didn't find it nice.its ok for its power and all but what i will do with the 500 cc power or 350cc power if the bike gets break down while in a ride.something or the other happens in a tour with enfield.I am not only saying about my bike I have seen other bulleteers too in trouble while in a long ride but the good thing is that they know all the repair and all but I don't know that was a big disadvantage and pusing enfield if it gets damaged on road is a hell task :-( ( i faced it 4 times) .

Go for R15 if you really wanna do something on tracks otherwise blindly choose Pulsar 220 carb. version

is R15 only for tracks? I mean can't it be used easily(i mean handling, comfortable in riding) in bangalore city for office hour for a 30 km travel daily in outer ringroads and some times for touring during weekends.I am asking because my heart is saying to buy R15 but still not sure ,bit in dilemma

R15 also a Good commuter as well as it handles well...but when it comes to 220 the performance is high and 220 is served for all purpose ie,. touring(Long journey), commuting etc etc... Moreover u may get back pain in R15 coz of its seating position & again purely its your personal choice...
