hi brothers.
thanks all for such huge praise. i dont know what came over me when was writing the first post. i sure love it each time i go through this post as much as i lived all those moments. seems that it was someone else who wrote all those lines. i sure wont be able to write another piece like that unless i fall in love again.
that said, things have moved on ever since. i ve done pretty okay for a middle class guy so far.
recently my dad - now with dementia kicking in has started building pressure on me and my mom that i should be provided with a new swanky car . my trusty 04 zen is 176k kms old now though it never shows and i ll never part with it willingly in this life.
still dad had on more than one occasions expressed his desire to buy me a new car. (long retired, he gets good pension thats usually unutilized in our family.)
at the same time i m looking forward to encashing some great returns on investments that i made. though it ll be about 2 mths until all the money changes hands i am already reading this line from the post again and again all day long:
"i am looking for a hayabusa.nothing less less would ever live up to the legend."
so, search begins friends. help me find a pre face lift hayabusa ie 1999-2007 bike. this will be my daily runner. if anyone can direct me to whereabouts of a bronze busa that was featured in bsmotoring in y2k then owned by a guy based in mumbai mr zareer porbunderwala, i d highly appreciate it. as an alternate, help me find a legal, stock busa pre facelift.
last eve i showed dad a pic of busa in some old auto magazine telling him this is what i want to buy. at this age he is beyond reasoning with. and the idea of getting a bike didn t really excite him. in his old world dreams, he wants to see me driving a car. he has no idea what this baby will cost to acquire, run and maintain. he has no idea how this fares vs a mid size sedan. but i know what he desires for me. i know how he sees me in his dreams.
and so guys, while the cup is still some distance from the mouth, one thing i am certain. when i strike a deal,i ll handover him whatever the cost of this bike is. i ll ask him to buy me this bike. my dads gonna buy me another bike.
so what if i turned 33 last june.
