@naren and nilhawk, heartiest congrats on the new steed. Now, please be prepared for a barrage of questions about what is arguably one of India's most awaited bikes :-)

One small question.

When I asked the engineer at the Hero showroom in Pune (Mahadeo Mandir chowk), he said that the rear shock preload adjustments can be done only at the ASC and not by the owner by himself as is usually done for other bikes (even the CBR 250R's rear preload can be adjusted at home). Is this true? This issue is a major one for me and may be the only hindrance which prevents me from buying the bike - I would like a bike whose rear suspension can be adjusted in a jiffy to change from highway tourer to offroad jumper!

I am also plan to swape the two engine panels punched with Hero with Honda Unicorn. I do not know what exactly you call them.

Yes the engine is a bit different but who cares since the engine of Impulse is also a latest engine from Honda with almost same power / torque of NXR 150 Bros. This engine seems to be 100% same at Honda Unicorn with a little bit tuning to increase the torque.



I completed the run in period in just 3 days . The top speed I could touch is 104 KMPH (as per odometer) and in off road, the engine does not seem to me much underpower. Note that I rode the bike in soft sand and on 5000 RPM, the power delivery of engine was good. The best part of this bike is the suspension, they are superb. I jumped 6 inch devider with a great ease. You can do a lot with this bike. Also it has got a good loading area where I tie my bag when I ride.

I would try to reply all of them.

Did you try adjusting the rear suspension in your Pulser? How much difference do they make. I have tried it in my earlier bike and actually they hardly make any difference. Also the travel of the rear suspension in Impulse is so much that you did not feel requirement of adjusting them any further. The existing set us up is good for highway and offroad both.

I am lazy dog when it comes to writing something still I will try my level best. I enjoy riding the bike on highway, on kachcha road and a bit on offroad. I was happy with her performance everywhere. You just need to learn how to balance the bike shifting your weight and here the fun begins. I was able to touch 70 KMPH on a gravel road, it was a superb experience.

I did kept on checking the exhaust heat but the protecter shield does it work very efficiently and not heat issue.

1. Overall the seat is quite soft which means no pain in your butts even after long rides. The rear seat is quite high compared to the other commuter bikes so yes the ladies in saree are not going to like it much.
2. If you have Pulser 150, you will feel almost the same power. But suspension and riding position of Impulse will creat a huge difference.
3. No vibration, very stable.
4. Light is not bad but not very good either. I am used to drive in nights with 130W watts in my car so riding with a 35W AC bulb is not what I prefere. For better light what trick I am using on the bike is that I put the bean on low and whenever I need more light, I press the flasher button, flasher is DC connection to the high beam. This way both the filaments glows, the high beam on DC current and low beam on AC.

I am sure it is going to be a good value to money bike.

One of my biker friend has back problem and thus he sold his RE Classic just after 4 months use and bought HeroHonda Hunk. Yesterday he test ride my bike and now he is planing to sell his 3 months old Hunk .

The answer is yes, for my Pulsar and the CBR 250R. If you know about preload settings, then the reason would be clear. And sorry, you have nor answered the question I had posed

It seems Impulse owners n other Impulse 'to be' owners don't really care about the original make(Honda NXR Bros) or the engine manufacturer(Honda). FYI, Honda will stop any sort of mingling they have with Hero Moto Corp. by 2014! I hope by then, 'Hero' does enough R&D to be on its own completely. Remember, the sad event of Kinetic Honda??
