KTM Duke 125, the offroad racing bike (God..!! The 125 Duke is NOT an offroad bike..!!) from the Bajaj Auto-KTM Sportmotorcycle AG stable, has sold 612 units in May, the second month since its launch, in the European market, making it the fourth best seller bike in its segment.

Its rivals in the same segment, Yamaha YBR 125 sold 791 units, Honda CBF 125 sold 743 units and Yamaha YZF 125 sold 695 units

this is very good news, i think this is the first time an international bike manufacturer is benifitting from an indian company......usually its the other way round.

And woah 4000 Euros? That's like 3+ Lakh rupees :O

Dukes are not offroaders man, they are street fighters.

Maxabout classifies it as an offroad bike! Many other websites do the same too. And it even looks like one! Even it's tires are kinda offroad looking! The whole thing looks like a Hi-tech Moto-cross bike!

"Maxabout" is one of the WORST sites out there. The others which you must have browsed are no better.

And it even looks like one!

That's because its deliberately dressed up to mimic an off road bike.

Duke's (990 Super Duke, 690 Duke and now the 125 Duke) are Street Bikes from the "Off Road Specialist" KTM.

Even it's tires are kinda offroad looking! The whole thing looks like a Hi-tech Moto-cross bike!

don't know how many know this, but the brand KTM means "highest quality & incredibly durable parts" to those who are familiar with KTM.

^^I think we should stop doubting everything that is made in India. After all there has been product recalls by large global manufacturers in almost all countries of the world some time or the other.

On a happy note I am proud that we have been able to design something for the European market. Give us another decade and we should have more of such machines.

Even if it is a 125cc bike costing around Rs. 2.48L (EUR 4,000 * 62)?? or even half that price??

No, right?

Hence it would make more sense for them to upsize the engine and sell it here, which they plan to do by year-end... So, lets wait for it...
