Not only initial cost, even spares would be very expensive for this one. So, it makes a lot of sense for Bajaj to launch 200cc instead of 125cc.

"Made in INDIA" my friend is not "Made in CHINA". Indian products stand for quality durability, reliability and affordability. But affordability is not at the price of the quality like the Chinese.

You should know we export Aerospace components and Helicopters to the west. And even Military Automobiles to many well known forces in the world.

On a happy note I am proud that we have been able to design something for the European market. Give us another decade and we should have more of such machines.

      Peace
We already have many of such Machines. The Honda CBF125 (Stunner Fi), Yamaha SS125 (Gladiator), Royal Enfields which are sold in Europe are all MADE IN INDIA. For now those are the examples I know and can give you.

We provide much more things to Europe and the world in the 4 wheeler segment ^_^

      No, right?

Hence it would make more sense for them to upsize the engine and sell it here, which they plan to do by year-end... So, lets wait for it...

        +1 to that

Our very own Suzuki Swift Shouldn't be more than ~2.5 So that means in rupees it should cost 1.7 lac

Duke 125, If launched in India will cost no more than 70-75K ex-showroom. around 90K is the right figure according to me

And BTW Stunner is voted 3rd best 125cc in Europe by European folks, for more info on the list check this link.

I think you meant that it "should" cost no more than 70-75k.
But it will, considering that it has high quality components like the WP USD forks, WP Adjustable rear mono-shock, machined aluminium swingarm, a liquid-cooled 4-valve DOHC engine, etc.

But since we are going OT, I will stop here

I don't own a Stunner! And giving examples isn't "emotions".

R15 has all of this and 25cc more (except inverted forks) and it costs 98k ex-showroom. And many parts of R15 are imported.

Duke with almost completely indigenous components and Minus 25cc shouldn't cost more than 75k as far as my guess goes!

^^^ that +/- 25cc wouldn't make lot of difference to overall cost structure. What makes difference is the technology & quality of parts. Of course looking at R15's price and knowing that Duke is a naked bike, which means at least couple of thousands less manufacturing cost per unit, Duke 125 should cost around 90k ex-showroom. But, maintenance wouldn't be cheap as it's spares are costly and nobody would be willing to pay for that kind of maintenance for a 125cc bike, not withstanding the fact that it comes loaded will tech & goodies.
