Default The Monster has arrived at Malaysia’s doorstep!

The Monster has arrived at Malaysia’s doorstep!
Latest Ducati model, the Monster 795, is launched in a global reveal

Kuala Lumpur, 20 October 2011 - Following 24 days of suspense created by the release of the Micro Monster Website that showed a hidden motorcycle and a countdown, Ducati has launched the new Monster 795 in Malaysia.

At The Rootz Club, inside the LOT 10 Shopping Mall in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), more than 500 enthusiasts and 100 media from Malaysia and all over Asia attended the launch of the new Monster 795, with the presence of the Ducati management, Mr.Cristiano Silei (Ducati Motor Holdings Vice President of Sales), Mr. Mirko Bordiga (CEO of Ducati Asia Pacific), and Datuk Wira SM Faisal (Joint Group Executive Chairman of the NAZA Group).

The ceremony reached its climax with the arrival of a special guest, Valentino Rossi. The nine-time world champion was greeted with an ovation by the Ducati enthusiasts before he took to the stage to unveil the Monster 795.

This latest model affirms Ducati’s focus towards the Asian markets. Mirko Bordiga, CEO Ducati Asia Pacific, said: “Monster has been the Ducati model sold in the highest numbers all over the world: it is an icon and represents an important part of Ducati’s history. The new Monster 795 has been thought and developed specifically for the Asian markets and for the growing group of Ducatisti in this area.”

During his speech, NAZA’s Joint Group Executive Chairman, Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin stated: “What makes this all the more significant is the fact that as we reveal this latest Ducati to Malaysia, we are also unveiling it to the whole Asia. Among the highlights we have experienced over the last decade, this is certainly one of the most extraordinary. Ducati has honoured us with this opportunity, for which we are sincerely thankful.”

A series of related activities will follow the Monster 795 unveiling event in Malaysia. A photo contest in which the participants have the opportunity to win the new Monster 795 has also been launched at a dedicated website (Ducati). In the coming months the Monster 795 will be released in all the other Asian Countries.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the new Monster available only in the red-black colour combination? Does anyone know if you can still get a white one in the new variant when it comes to India?

^ @ Siddharth: This might happen later, but as of now, NO, Monster 795 is available in only Red Color.

With a dry weight of 167 kgs only and higher power, this bike might eat GT and Ninja for breakfast itself, in performance terms.

It appears no one told Ducati, it is illegal to mount freakishly good looking bazookas in the place of exhausts.

Hmm, thought so much, I know the importance of the RED Ducati, but the white Monster looked very good. Just hope they come out with it soon.

The Monster has almost 150cc more, i.e. 15 BHP more than those two, plus the desmo valves. But it is not really built for that kind of performance. I mean naked bike with no wind protection means you really can't cruise for long at 150+. In addition, it is more expensive and harder to maintain. Then again, the other two weigh 200+ kg, means the power-weight ratio is awesome on the Monster.

I beg your pardon if my past statement to which you have so kindly referred to with the remark "I am perplexed....." put you in sort of confusion regarding the techincal specification and engine dynamics of a modern-day motorcycle engine. Sorry if the aforementioned statement was confusing, but you should attempt to comprehend the general direction of my explanation that it has 150cc more AND also 15 BHP. (Monster is 87 BHP; GT650 and N650 both produce somewhere in the vicinity of 72 BHP). I hope my math is not as bad as my English

P.S.: It's all in good humour my dear friend.
