The company’s cumulative sales (April to December 2011) grew 10 per cent at 1,670,040 units from the previous comparable period.
Total two-wheeler sales stood at 167,905 units in December 2011 (168,359 in December 2010.) Domestic two-wheeler sales was down to 146,747 units (1,49,357).
Scooters grew 7 per cent to 44,804 units, while motorcycles sales dipped 7 per cent to 56,662 units.

The company sold 2,523 three-wheelers in December 2011 against 3,431 units in the same month of the previous year. Cumulative three-wheeler sales from April to December 2011 was 32,047 units, a growth of 15 per cent over the same period of the previous year.

Bajaj Auto - 10% Growth:
The rather lower-than-expected growth in December 2011 sales of vehicles by Bajaj Auto saw the scrip skid 4.88 per cent in the early hours of trading, the first day of trading in the new year.
The Bajaj Auto shares lost Rs 77.80 to trade at Rs 1,515, a loss of 4.88 per cent, on the BSE at 10.40 a.m.
It is not that the numbers were bad considering the challenging market environment. The commercial vehicles' sales were 41,991 vehicles (33,128), up 27 per cent.
The overall sales of vehicles at 3,05,690 (2,76,803) showed a more modest 10 per cent growth, which probably was below the market expectations. But in all the three categories, the company recorded its best December month performance ever.
In exports also, the overall figure of 1,19,708 vehicles was a 25 per cent increase over the corresponding period in 2010 at 95,388 vehicles. Activa Effect

That's because of the new plant which is churning out Activa's.. the waiting period of the Activa has come down dramatically and its effect is for all to see.

Not just HMSI's sales have been increasing, TVS has been pushed from 3'rd to 4'th now and sales of Mahindra Scooters are in the negative too. Off late even Suzuki Motorcycles has not been publishing sales figures.

It seems Hero, honda, and tvs are posting the figures based on the scooters they sell as they are in big demand.Mahindra is only seliing scotters again which are doing good as rodeo has a futuristic design and is solid as compared with its competitors. Bajaj and yamaha are the only two major companies which are competing in biking segment. So its good to see bajaj growing 10% after logging out from their scooter manufacturing business, so its a great achievement i feel. Why are yamaha sales figures not posted?
