  • Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Launch: xBhp News

Royal Enfield looks set to launch the all-new Bullet 500. The name returns after nearly a decade after the 22 PS cast-iron engined motorcycle made way for the introduction of the 24 PS AVL-engined Machismo 500 and the 27.5 PS Classic 500. Now, Royal Enfield is about to bring back the charming old 500, albeit with a few changes to bring it up to modern standards.
The new Bullet 500 will make its debut in a new Forest Green colour. This is somewhere between the Sea Green and Battle Green offered by the company on the Classic 500; the latter being unavailable in India. e expect output figures to be on par with the EFi models at 27.5 PS of peak power and 41.3 Nm of torque. It remains to be seen if the new Bullet 500 will sport a 19-inch front and 18-inch rear combination, or will simply feature 19-inch wheels front and rear.

Minor problems are a common issue with Royal Enfields
Hope they get solved with these bikes.
These are very well made motorcycles, powerful & great torque.

Interestingly, it will be a carburetted model and not FI.

The primary target for RE is to make the Bull 500 cheaper than the Classic 500 - that's the motto behind the whole exercise. The carbureted bull is expected to be 20k cheaper. People looking for FI will have the option of the Electra or the Classic.

AFAIK Electra is carburetted. The only FI options are the new Thunderbird 500 and Classic 500. But I do see a need for a rear disk option for this. This is definitely good signs from RE following the supposedly Cafe Racer launch in the second half of 2013.

i think its time RE increase the CC to beyond 500 and may be upto 750 and its time they redesign the engine so that it produces more power.

I don't understand, first of all RE is not able to keep up with customer demands. An individual has to wait for 14-18months just for a 350cc CL, 5-8 months for TB/CL500.
ANd now they are planning to launch Bullet 500.
Are they planing to have a relation with customer on waiting period ??

Not sure if the new plant has already started production. But it does aim to increase the production capcity significantly and thus catering to the demand. The long waiting periods also has to do with a lot of RE dealers selling the bikes in black to people who pay premium and fooling the guys who still waiting.

I am not sure I like it. The Classic twins were visual stunners, the TB500 was a new look on a old classic...but this one?
(...oh well...it's supposed to be cheaper. Never mind...)
