(...oh well...it's supposed to be cheaper. Never mind...)
    looks are subjective

I see lot of positive things .
I liked forest green color with traditional bullet look. Comfortable seats than classics, carb will make it cheaper by 15 k atleast.
It can be my next if priced ~ 1.35 here in Gurgaon.

Looks gorgeous to me. Pure classic bullet looks.

But why a 19inch front? Wont a bigger wheel at front reduce flick-ability?

New Bullet 500 in forest green is so Yucky!! Battle green is more richer in looks than this Forest green color. Oh! God when will this RE learn to satisfy customer from all sides, always leave one or the other corner for complain etc... And again this is non tubeless tyres, Why ??? Why ???

Finally it's out. Pictorials look good to me and so are the specifications.
(Although I always feel that with such large block the power output is disproportionate both PS and NM BUT we can't do much about it as there is no such bike within the given price range)
Anyways, I inquired at the dealership, On Road Price is 1.5 L (only 10K lesser than Classic 500) in Delhi with waiting to of approx. 1.5-2 months.
Going to check it in flesh very soon.
              May end up booking one.

I love the new bullet 500. Personally, I love the forest green color (I have seen a custom painted bullet with a similar shade and it looks fantastic). I just hope it is metallic. The pricing is decent i guess. And it's good that they have finally added decent tyres and better rear suspension to it. Though i would have preferred front to be 18inch as well (like the rear) but it's okay.

PS: Anyone who is wondering why such a styling for a 500cc bullet. I believe it's quite simple. RE has categorized their motorcycles under 3 style categories. And only the *Bullet* category was missing a 500cc engine in India since UCE is introduced. So now they have a 500cc motorcycle in *Thunderbird*, *Classic* and *Bullet*.

Did a test ride of the new STD500 today.
The forest green doesn't look appealing in flesh, the so called green color does not appear green at all. I had to check it closely to figure out it's the forest green color.
I must say the black color is far much better and has appeal of original classic.
For the ride it's great, the thrust I felt on release of clutch is just great as usual. The thump is deep i liked. Throttle response is usual to other models.
                      Brakes are a weak point.
After the test ride I checked the exhaust sound of TB just to have a comparison. TB is Not a Bullet neither a bike! Lost somewhere.
I am checking up the financials & if it fits in the excel sheets, I will take the delivery very soon.

Somewhere I feel if Bullet Electra Deluxe would had been launched in India then surely it would had reduced waiting periods for CL and TBs.

Can't understand why RE din't launch Bullet Electra Deluxe as well in India??

re: Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Launch: xBhp News

Test drove the new Standard Bullet 500 carb version. Unfortunately they didn't had the new forest green shade. So got to test the black one.

Note: I drive a Pulsar 150 gen 1 since 2002 till date and my views are completely from a non-RE background.

The new 500 looks beautiful I should say. I am 5.9 in height and when I sat for the first time, the tank looked huge and massive to me! Wondering if a slim guy like me can handle this bike in traffic conditions!!

                          The new badge looked elegant.

The ride was awesome. Though it had lot of vibrations from the start to even at 40-50 speeds. Now users says it could be due to Test drive bike! It sent all those vibrations to my shoulders

Gear shifting was butter smooth, no false neutrals! excellent to manoeuver too. May not on sharp turns. Lastly the power! Uff..it kept begging me to push over and over...fantastic low end torque. You can easily pull it off from the higher gears even at lowest speeds. Something I terribly miss in my Pulsar.

Fit and finish looked excellent. Cannot judge about metal quality for rust exposure. It has a higher wattage of halogen bulbs than other bullets so illumination should be great. Rear tail lamp design is i guess the same like Classic models. Could have been a little bigger.

Sound exhaust was a typical bullet. Personally didn't feel to have a bigger thump.

Braking was good too. It has front disc. Both rear and front braking was upto my expectation.

Some few things i thought could have been added in this new upgrade:
                          1. Rear Disc
                          2. Fuel indicator
                          3. HID projector like in the new TB500
                          4. Bigger pilot lamps

Few pics that I took (excuse for the mobile camera quality)

Crazy question (given that the bike is built here): Has the Bullet 500 been launched in Chennai? If so, wait times?

Can somebody provide links/explain the difference between CI/UCE engine?
I am looking to purchase a used bullet in the next 3 weeks time provided I'm able to source one.

I am little confused on which year model to choose and what to look for before finalizing the deal. There are quite a few available in olx and quikr.
All suggestions would be greatly remembered.
