Thumbs up TVS to launch Apache in USA!

I just found this piece of info in the other forum.

TVS to roll on Apache land

All the best TVS!

Quote:
Classic Motorworks the importer and distributor of Royal Enfield bikes in the US is considering to introduce bikes produced by India's third largest two-wheeler maker - TVS Motor. The Minnesota-based firm has one hundred Royal Enfield dealers in the US that sell around five hundred motorcycles annually.

According to a report Kevin Mahoney, owner of Minnesota-based Classic Motorworks, was quoted saying that he is aiming to begin offering the TVS bike to dealers stateside by spring 2009 and one of the first models to be rolled out would be the Apache RTR.

Currently the RTR is undergoing EPA testing and the US firm is confident that the bike will be approved for sale in the US since it is produced to meet strict Euro 3 guidelines.

India is the world's second largest two-wheeler market and motorcycle sales in the country are expected to cross over a crore units annually by 2012-2013.

@ abv

exactly most of commuting is done in cars

almost all the bikes are superbikes ,...

imagine a drag race between RTR and R1

RTR 1st gear - 40kmph
R1 1st gear - 145 kmph

Says who? The saree guard is not a bike feature its an RTO compulsion in India....
BTW there are so many smaller bike available in the US... right from cheap chinese/korean ones to good Japanese ones!

This would be a very good exercise, if done correctly!
