I wonder what would be the Segment of the population that the Apache would Target.

So exactly why are we mocking the RTR? Its a 50 kmpl, 160cc bike...Donno why each and every bike has to go through the "its soooo slow compared to the R1" thing...OBV...

      If a guy wanted R1 speeds, he'll buy a R1...

Only one thing that'll stun the Yankees into submission- Build Quality!! Though good, not comparable to the US market Jap bikes!

The FI is surely waay better than any of the commuter 125s there...So teenagers looking for a alternative have the RTR...
And being Indian, it will definately be priced at $2...

They barely use things for a year anyways!

The good news being maybe they pump up the power on the map, we somehow get that same ECU here and voila!

naat baad .. I am sure the punch line will not remain "the fast just got faster". it'll be something like "the efficient got more efficient" and RTR will have to be changed to something else.

Maybe they'll make it a motocross bike.

If they are gonna export Rtr then thy should put better expensive tyres on it n sell it for around 1700$

afaik R1 cost about 10-11k $ in the US of A and it'll be a nice substitute of sbks there for the students who want a bike for commuting or maybe used by pizzaboys...

People talking/suggesting so much about segment to target, better positioning, better features, pricing et all... isn't this more of a PULL selling being done by an independent importer rather than TVS PUSHing it there...?

The thread title itself is debatable... its not TVS thats launching anything there... its an importer buying an x number and selling it there...

Imagine if tomorrow Mahendra and Mahendra buys X amount of KYMCO motorcycles and sell them in India, it would hardly mean any benefit for KYMCO.... Unless they plan to enter into the market...

Y do u all always mock Indian bikes. Most of you own one or atleast one that is made in India (for the likes of Yamahas and Hondas). Be Proud of them. Atleast they are being exported to the USA. Theres a hype of a BUSA or a R1 or Harley being exchanged for mangoes. but y not for an Apache.

Ive been living in Oman for all my life. And u get to see loads of Unicorns there. On one hand it feels a little funny but on the other hand I am proud to see an Indian produced bike on Omani roads. Also the Indians there who cannot afford better bikes sold by Honda or any other brand gets a personal mode of Transport. Be proud of Indian Bikes. Be proud of India ... Coz that is what XBHP is all about.

Will the Apache work in the US? Should do good for commuting.. Also, wouldn't you want MCN out to pit it on track against some of the 250s

Lets hope it manages to kick some korean arse if not Japanese ones

**mirrors on handlebars (do they have anything like this there, if yes then plz fergiv me)
                            ** A saree guard ..LOL!!!

They may rename the saree guard to "pillion safety guard" as we all know how crazy whites are about safety!!

***Also, the "such small speed limits" is a safety precaution...

ohh please for fcuk sake everyone, stop fancying saree guards. doesn't any one here have something useful to say? making remarks like "white" and "black" wouldn't certainly help this international forum anyway.

definitely apache wont be in any shootouts because that is not what this bike is going there for, so please stop comparing it performance or its speedometer or its exhaust to R1s and CBRs or what ever your dream bike is. It's well might be used by pizza guys, beginners, urban commuters or for moving within pitstop area of the circuits around US.
